Pretty sure NFC runs on the same frequency, so if it blocks one it’s blocking the other too. Mine just sits in my wallet and I haven’t noticed any issues with my phone reading tags or anything, honestly kind of forget it’s in there. Not losing sleep over it.
It picks them up on its own sometimes, but don’t expect it to catch every short nap. I’ve had it register a 20-minute doze and completely ignore a longer one another day. Kind of hit or miss.
I ran one on a 2011 hatchback for a few months. It didn’t mess with anything weird or throw any codes, if that’s what you’re worried about. Didn’t really notice much fuel savings either, to be honest. Just plug it in and forget about it if you want to try it.

Call audio gets muffled through the plastic and it looks dumb holding a pouch to your ear. Fine for keeping it dry, but annoying if you take a lot of calls.
I’d return it and stick with a real meter if glucose matters to you. Use the watch for steps and battery life, not medical numbers.
You’re right to be skeptical, paint doesn’t fix moisture. Anti-mold paints or additives can slow visible regrowth after you clean the spot, but they aren’t a long-term cure. For a tiny damp corner I usually just clean it, treat the mold, repaint and live with it until the wall needs proper repair.
You’re probably overestimating how much it’s actually waking her, I think cats tune out repetitive sounds. Maybe she just shifts and the bell is noticeable to you, not a full wake-up. Not totally sure, but I wouldn’t lose sleep over it unless you see full nights of restlessness.
