MemberI’ve got a bedroom that stays cold no matter what the thermostat says. Looking at the CoolCove as a spot heater but not sure how well it handles a room that’s actually drafty. Can it keep up or is it just for small well insulated spaces?

Tom in NYCMemberDrafty rooms are tough for any spot heater, honestly. If the cold air is constantly leaking in, the CoolCove will probably struggle to keep up unless you seal the drafts first. It works fine for maintaining temp in a normal room, but it’s not a miracle worker. I’d fix the drafts and then see if you actually need it.

MemberSealing the drafts first is probably going to do more than any heater will. Spot heaters just recirculate whatever air is in the room, so if cold air keeps sneaking in, you’re fighting a losing battle.

Ryan__TMemberNot sure I’d count on it for a drafty room. These things are decent for bumping up the temp a bit but they’re not going to fight a constant leak of cold air. You’d probably be better off just blocking the draft first.

MemberHonestly I think you’d probably notice more of a difference from blocking the draft than from the heater itself. Not totally sure the CoolCove can fight a constant cold leak.

MemberMine handles a drafty room okay but only if I set it right near my desk. It’s not magic but it keeps the chill off me directly. I’d still tape up the window cracks.

Oliver BrooksMemberI think it really depends on what you’re expecting from it. The CoolCove might help take the edge off if you point it right at yourself, but it’s not going to warm up the whole room if there’s a draft constantly coming in. I’ve seen people say it works okay as a personal heater, just not as a room-wide fix. Not totally sure it’s worth it if you’re hoping to fight a leaky window or door.

Maria_BakesMemberI’ve had mine in a room that’s definitely not sealed great and it still takes the edge off pretty well. Not gonna heat the whole space like a furnace, but if you sit near it it’s fine.

Susan KennetMemberI’d probably look more at sealing the drafts first, honestly. A spot heater like that works fine in my room but it’s not gonna fix a constant cold breeze coming in somewhere.

MemberI’ve got one in my office and it does help, but I’m honestly not sure how it would do in a really drafty room. It’s more of a gentle warmth than a blast of heat.

MarkD87MemberI think it’s fine for a drafty room if you don’t expect it to heat the whole space evenly. I just set mine up close to where I’m sitting and it does the job well enough. People overthink these things sometimes, it’s just a spot heater.

EthanFreeMemberI’ve got a drafty room too and the CoolCove helps a bit, but I wouldn’t say it’s a game changer. It’s more like it takes the edge off if you’re nearby.

MemberI’ve been curious about the CoolCove too but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. From what I’ve read, it seems like it’s more about keeping you warm nearby rather than fighting a whole drafty room. Might be worth a shot if you sit in one spot a lot.

MemberI feel like people overthink the draft thing. It’s a spot heater, not a HVAC system. If you sit near it, it’ll keep you warm even if the room has a leaky window.

MemberI’ve got mine in a pretty drafty living room and it does the job fine if you’re sitting nearby. People make too big a deal about drafts honestly, just point it toward where you’re sitting and it keeps you comfortable. Not gonna heat the whole room like a furnace but that’s not really the point.
12 de July de 2026 at 22:14 #5085Marcus Olsen
MemberI think people worry about drafts more than they need to with these things. As long as you sit near it, you’ll feel the heat. It’s really just a spot warmer.

Mike TurnerMemberPeople make too big a deal about drafts honestly.
Honestly, it’s a spot heater. If you sit near it, you’ll feel it.

Dave RunnerMemberI think you’re overthinking it a little. I use mine in a drafty corner and it does what it’s supposed to do.
14 de July de 2026 at 07:08 #5155Chris Lee
MemberI’d say it depends on how drafty the room actually is. If you’re sitting close to it, you’ll probably feel the warmth well enough.

MemberJust skimmed the replies. Sounds like it works well enough if you’re sitting near it, even with drafts. Might pick one up and see how it goes. Appreciate the input.
