MarkD87MemberUsing the Qinux BitBip 89 on my spare TV and the two wireless controllers are actually pretty comfy, plus it really is plug and play. The downside is the game library feels messy and save states are hit or miss depending on the emulator. Can you add more games easily via USB/SD and keep saves working across different emulators, or am I missing a setting? Any tips to tidy up the menu or make saves reliable would be great.

RyanTParticipantHonestly mine’s been pretty solid with saves so far, even switching between different systems. I mostly use normal in-game saves though instead of relying only on save states, and I always exit back to the menu before powering it off.

northshoreParticipantI can add games from USB fine, but saves kept getting weird until I stopped powering the stick from the TV USB and used the supplied wall adapter instead. After that saves stayed put across a couple of emulators I use. Still messy menu organization, though, annoyingly.

AnnaKParticipantGood little plug-and-play for casual couch sessions and kids getting into retro games. I added a few ROMs from SD and my saves held up across a couple emulators.

techguy22ParticipantPretty sure saves are stored in emulator-specific folders, so if you add ROMs into a different path the system won’t pick up the old save files.

MemberSeems neat, but the menu is a messy jumble that makes finding games annoying.

JSmithParticipantHonestly I just threw a bunch of ROMs on a USB stick and it worked fine for me. Saves are a bit random depending on the game but I never really messed with settings. Menu is what it is, I just scroll through it.

MemberHonestly I haven’t had too much trouble with saves on mine. They seem to work fine for the games I actually play regularly. I just added a few ROMs via SD card and they showed up without any fuss. Maybe I’m just lucky or not picky enough to notice the issues.

MemberI actually don’t mind the messy library, kind of adds to the retro feel honestly. Makes it feel like digging through a bargain bin at a flea market.

Memberdon’t really mind the messy library either. It feels more like digging through a collection rather than a polished app store. As for saves, I just pick one emulator per game and stick with it, that solved most of the issues for me.

Nina_gadgetMemberI’ve been messing around with mine too and honestly the save thing is kinda all over the place depending on which emulator you’re using. I think some just don’t handle it the same way and there’s no easy fix for that. As for adding games I just threw a bunch of ROMs on a USB and it picked them up, but no clue about keeping saves consistent.

MemberNot sure about the saves thing, I just kind of accept some will work and some won’t. Adding games via USB was straightforward enough though, so that part at least is fine.

MemberAdding games via USB is easy enough, but I wouldn’t hold your breath on saves being consistent. Feels like a total coin flip depending on which emulator you’re using. I just save manually in-game when I can and don’t rely on the menu for it. Menu’s a mess but I just ignore it.

KhanMemberI wouldn’t overthink the saves too much. Some emulators just handle them differently and that’s kind of how it goes with these cheap sticks. As long as the games load up fine, I just play and don’t worry about it.

MarkD87MemberGuess I’ll just live with the save roulette. Added a few games via USB and that part was easy enough, so I’m calling it good enough for now.

MemberAdding games via USB was simple enough for me. The save stuff I haven’t really bothered to figure out, just kind of roll with whatever works.
