Looking at the AiraBreeze for a small bedroom. Does it need to be right next to an open window to work decently, or can it sit on a desk in the middle of the room and still cool anything? Trying to figure out if the placement is picky before I grab one.

I think you’re overthinking it a bit. I’ve had mine sitting on a dresser a few feet from the window and it still feels fine.

I wouldn’t stress too much about getting it right by the window. I had mine on a nightstand across from the bed and it still moved the air around enough to notice. Not gonna freeze you out or anything but it did the job for me.

I’ve used mine on a desk across the room from any window and it still pushes air around fine. Not gonna freeze you out or anything, but it’s not useless either. I wouldn’t overthink the placement too much.

It works fine away from the window, but you’re not getting the full effect if you’re expecting ice-cold air. It’s more of a breeze than an AC replacement. As long as you’re in a small room it’ll move air around well enough regardless of where you put it.

Might depend on what you’re expecting from it. If you just want some airflow and a bit of humidity, middle of the room is probably fine.

I don’t get the obsession with window placement for something this small. It’s basically a fan with a water tank, not a portable AC unit. Put it wherever you want the air moving and move on.

Honestly, it’s not that deep. I’ve had mine sitting on a shelf across the room and it still moves air around fine. You’re not going to get ice cold air either way, so just put it wherever it fits.

Honestly, I think people overthink it. I’d just put it wherever it’s not gonna get knocked over and call it a day.

It’s an evaporative cooler, not an AC unit. Put it near a window if you want fresh air coming in, but it’ll still move air around wherever you set it down.

It’s not that serious. I’ve got mine sitting on a nightstand away from the window and it still feels nice.

I think people make it sound more complicated than it really is. From what I’ve seen, it’s pretty flexible as long as you’re not expecting it to blast cold air across the whole room. You can probably put it on a desk and still feel a nice breeze, especially if you’re sitting nearby.

Mine’s on a dresser across the room and it works fine. Not trying to freeze the place, just takes the edge off.

I wouldn’t overthink it. I’ve moved mine around a few times and it still feels like it’s doing something wherever I put it.

I think people might be overcomplicating it a bit. I wouldn’t stress too much about where you place it.
