I’ve been wearing my Herz P1 Smart Ring for a few days now and it seems to track my main sleep fine, but I’m not sure about short daytime naps. Do I need to do something in the app to start nap tracking or does it just pick them up on its own?

It’s automatic! Mine detects naps without doing anything

I think it just does it on its own. I’ve had mine for a couple weeks and I’ve caught it picking up some random afternoon snoozes without me touching the app. Not totally sure how long it needs to be to register though.

Nope. Mine picks up naps on its own. I wouldn’t want to have to log them manually anyway, that defeats the point.

Mine just picks them up. Didn’t have to do anything special.

Mine just picks them up on their own. I took a short nap on the couch the other day and was surprised to see it logged when I checked the app later. No complaints here, seems to work fine for that.

Naps have been hit or miss for me. Sometimes it picks up a 30 minute nap without me doing anything, other times it just ignores it. I wouldn’t rely on it catching every short nap automatically.

I’ve had mine for a couple weeks and it’s picked up a few 20-30 minute naps on its own without me doing anything. It’s not consistent, but it’s happened enough that I don’t bother logging them manually.

If it’s anything like mine, don’t hold your breath waiting for it to catch a nap automatically. I’ve had it miss a few short ones even when I was just lying still. Not exactly reliable for that.

It’s been pretty automatic for me with the shorter naps. A couple times I’ve dozed off on the couch and checked later and it was already logged, which was nice. Not every single one gets caught, but enough that I don’t worry about it.

It picks them up on its own sometimes, but don’t expect it to catch every short nap. I’ve had it register a 20-minute doze and completely ignore a longer one another day. Kind of hit or miss.

Thanks for the replies, that pretty much answers what I was wondering about. Sounds like it’s mostly automatic, but not perfect for really short naps. I’ll just keep wearing it and see how it goes for me.

From my experience it seems pretty automatic. I’ve had it catch a couple of short naps without me touching the app at all. But yeah, it’s not gonna get every single one.
