I’m thinking about trying PestVault for my garage, but I’m a little skeptical about how well scent-based repellents actually work. Do the pouches really drive mice away, or do they just make the place smell nice while rodents still sneak around? Seems like it’d be hard to tell if it’s working unless you see less droppings or something.

I’d probably just give it a shot honestly. I picked some up for a closet and it seemed to keep things quiet in there, at least no signs of anything coming back since I put them in. Not totally sure if it’s the smell or just coincidence but it’s been fine for me so far.

It’s not supposed to cover up smells, it’s supposed to make the place smell bad to rodents. Worked fine in my crawlspace, but you still have to seal up gaps or it’s pointless.

I think people overthink this a bit. It’s just a scent pouch, not some high-tech solution. If you put it in a small enclosed space like a garage closet or a tool cabinet, it probably helps, but expecting it to single-handedly clear out an entire garage is asking too much.
