I ended up using mine mostly while lying in bed or folding laundry, so the cord thing never really registered as a big deal to me. The way mine works is the mask itself is what goes on your face, and then there’s a little controller that the wire plugs into. You charge that controller separately, then you’re basically tethered to it while the mask is on. So you’re not stuck next to an outlet exactly, but you’re also not totally free to roam the house either.
I think the confusion comes from the product description throwing around “wireless” when they mean the mask isn’t plugged into the wall directly. Once I got mine I stopped caring about the wording, since sessions are only like 15 minutes anyway. I usually just sit on the couch and scroll my phone. If you genuinely want to walk around doing chores with it on, that’s where it might bug you a bit. Otherwise it’s fine.
Mine left more than a faint ring when I pulled it off my old Corolla. There was a little circular patch where the rubber had basically baked onto the glass after a summer of sitting in the sun. Glass cleaner did nothing for it, but a plastic razor blade and some goo gone got it off in a couple minutes. The weird part is the ring came back a few weeks later even though the mount wasn’t there anymore. Turned out it was actually on the inside of the glass, like some kind of residue or coating thing that showed up when the light hit it right. Never fully went away either. So if you’re moving it to a car you actually care about, maybe think about where you stick it, because on a beater it doesn’t matter but on something nice it’s annoying.
I’ve gone back and forth on this with a couple of cheap watches and the app situation is usually messier than people make it sound. With mine, I started on the app it came with, then got curious and tried syncing it to a different one I already had on my phone. The steps showed up but the sleep data just never made the jump, so I ended up with two apps showing two different versions of my day. That got old fast. I don’t think you’re going to break the watch by poking around, it just records stuff on its own and the app is more of a window into it. So if the manual is vague I’d say just try what you’ve got and see what actually pulls through. Worst case you delete the extra one.
15 minutes is the sweet spot for me. I tried cutting it to 8 or 9 once and my back felt about the same as not using it at all, so I just stick with the full session now.
I don’t think the ultrasonic part is really about scraping power. I had a basic metal pick and yeah, if I sat there chipping away long enough it would eventually pop some tartar off. Got a DappSmile mainly because my hands would cramp up trying to keep steady pressure with the manual one. The buzzing tip does the work for you so you’re basically just guiding it along the tooth instead of pushing hard. Took me a bit to stop pressing like I did with the metal pick since that just made my gums angry. For light stuff near the gumline it’s less of a fight. The hard chunks still need the same patience either way. So it’s not a different job, just a different feel in your hand.
I actually think the ID is worth having if you’re new to birds. Without it you’re just watching clips of random birds and guessing. I had it for a few months and it was nice opening the app and seeing “house finch” instead of just a blurry brown blob.
I went the other way after trying one. I liked the convenience but my car’s factory system seemed to handle the wired signal better, so the wireless version felt a little flat on the low end. It wasn’t terrible, just noticeable enough that I went back to the cable for longer drives.
I grabbed a 32GB card beforehand just to be safe. Better than waiting around if one is not in the box.
I’ve worn mine around a busy shopping district during some kind of street festival, which was honestly about as chaotic as it gets for sound. Lots of chatter, music from different stores spilling out, cars honking. The noise reduction does something, but for me the bigger factor was how close the other person was standing. If they were right next to me and speaking at a normal pace, it picked things up fine. If they were a bit farther away or talking over their shoulder, it started guessing wrong.
What threw me off was that it handled the constant rumble of crowd noise way better than sudden loud bursts like a siren or someone yelling nearby. Those seemed to punch through and confuse it for a second. Also, I noticed I had to speak a little more clearly myself. I tend to mumble when I’m distracted, and in a loud place that habit caught up with me. When I made an effort to talk a bit slower, the translations got noticeably better.
I wouldn’t say the noise reduction is a miracle or anything, but it’s not useless either. It just buys you a bit more room to work with. If the airport cafe is mostly steady background noise, you’ll probably be okay. I’d just keep your expectations in check and maybe have your phone ready as a backup if you’re translating something important.
I just toss them wherever and don’t really pay attention to the scent until I’m close to the pouch. They’re not gonna make the whole garage smell like anything, but you’ll know when you’re near one. That’s about all I need from them.
I’ve had mine hanging in a basement for a few months now with just some clips along the top and it’s been fine. The fabric has a bit of give to it, so as long as you pull it snug when you hang it, it stays pretty flat. I do notice a small wave near the bottom corner, but once the movie’s on you really don’t see it.
I’d go with a decent class 10 just to be safe. The camera itself isn’t super picky, but 4K footage adds up fast and a slow card can stutter or stop recording at the worst moment. I’ve had that happen with other cameras, not this one specifically, but it’s just not worth the hassle when cards are cheap now.

It’s not a universal tool, but it covers the common stuff most homeowners are running. If you’re on a standard setup, I wouldn’t overthink it. If you’re running something weird, maybe measure the chain first.
Pups that age tend to grow out of the noise sensitivity anyway, so you might not even need it for long.
I sized up for mine so it wouldn’t dig in, and honestly it just feels like a thicker base layer under my jeans. The straps are the only part I notice if I’m sitting weird, but for walking around doing errands it’s fine. I wouldn’t wear it with anything super tight, but regular pants are no problem.
The spinning brush definitely helps with old buildup, but you’re still going to have to put some elbow grease into it. I found it works better if you let it sit on a spot for a few seconds instead of just gliding over the whole grate. It won’t be a one-and-done miracle, but it’s a lot less work than a regular brush.
I think you’re overthinking it a bit. If the plug fits, it should work, and 2008 is well within the OBD2 era. Maybe some really old cars have weird pinouts, but yours is probably fine.
