I keep a Glacier Breeze in my car for when I’m waiting around or on lunch breaks, and I usually just plug it into the USB port. It seems to charge fine but I’m not sure if I should be using a wall adapter instead. Anyone else just use whatever USB plug is handy?

Car chargers work fine, mine has lasted months.

Wall adapters are definitely better for this thing, in my experience. I used to just plug mine into whatever USB port was around, including my car, and the battery never really got a full charge that way. It would run for maybe two hours instead of the longer stretch I get at home. Once I switched to a regular wall plug, the difference was obvious. Car ports just don’t push enough for a proper charge on this. Mine also got weirdly warm when I charged it in the car, which I didn’t love. So yeah, I’d say use the wall adapter when you can and save the car port for emergencies.

I use a car charger for mine pretty regularly and it’s been fine. It charges slower than my wall plug at home, so I just leave it plugged in longer. No issues with the battery so far.

Using whatever USB plug is handy is fine for charging, but the car one is the weakest of the bunch in my case. I’ve got a 12v socket adapter that claims 2.1A and my Glacier Breeze still crawls on it compared to the brick I use at home. Doesn’t damage anything, it just takes way longer. Left it plugged in on a drive once and after like two hours the battery barely moved. So if you’re counting on it being topped up by the time you get back to work, that’s where the car thing disappoints. For just keeping it alive between uses it does the job. I don’t bother chasing the fastest plug anymore, I just know a quick top up in the car isn’t going to get me much.

USB ports in cars are all over the place. Mine barely kept up and the thing died mid-afternoon, so I stopped bothering. A wall plug actually finished the job.

I picked up a cheap 2A car adapter for mine instead of the built-in port. Charges at a normal speed that way, close to what I get at home.

I plug mine into the car USB pretty often and it’s held up fine, though I mostly do it because it’s already sitting there. If I’m at home I’ll grab the wall plug since I feel like it tops off faster, but it’s not something I’ve ever lost sleep over.

Car USB ports are usually weak, so yeah it charges but slowly. Mine barely kept up when I had it running at the same time. A wall plug actually gets it done.

Wall adapter is pointless for this thing.

I’ve been using whatever USB port is closest for a few months now and it’s been fine. If the car port is slow I just leave it charging longer. Not really a wall adapter person for this thing.

Good to know, I’ll just keep using mine as is.

Wall adapter actually matters for me. My car port trickle charges it so slowly that the battery still drops if I run it on medium, but a regular wall plug tops it up way faster. So I keep the car cable for emergencies only.
