I had a plain old showerhead for years and just switched to the Glokore Filtered Showerhead about two weeks ago. The water does feel a bit different, not as harsh I guess, but I’m not sure if that’s just because it’s new. My old one was super basic and cheap, so I’m wondering if anyone else made a similar switch and actually noticed a real difference over time. I’m not expecting miracles, just curious if the filtration part does anything noticeable compared to a no-frills showerhead.

I switched from a cheap basic one too and the biggest thing I noticed was my hair feeling less dry after a few weeks. At first I thought it was just new-showerhead placebo but it stuck around. Not saying it’s magic, but I’d make the swap again.

I actually noticed the opposite of what you’re worried about. Mine felt the same as the old one for the first week, then after about a month the difference was obvious. The shower walls stopped getting that cloudy film so fast, which I didn’t expect at all. Two weeks is probably too early to judge it.

Two weeks is exactly when I stopped noticing any change.

I’m in the same spot, still using an old cheap one and trying to decide if the swap is worth it. The “feels less harsh” thing could just be the new spray pattern honestly. Curious what people say after a couple months.

Two weeks isn’t really enough to judge a filter honestly. I went back to a plain head after about six months because I couldn’t tell a difference once the newness wore off. If you’re not noticing anything obvious by now, the swap probably won’t feel worth it long term.

Sounds like a decent upgrade for the price, just keep an eye on the filter.

I also came from a really cheap basic head, and the main thing I noticed was the pressure. My old one was fine but kind of weak, and this one actually kept decent flow while still feeling a little softer. That part surprised me more than any filtration claim. I didn’t really think about the water itself much after the first week or so, but the shower overall just feels a bit nicer to stand under. Whether that’s the filter or just having a better head, I couldn’t tell you. For the price it didn’t feel like a waste, but I also wouldn’t say it’s some huge life change. It’s a showerhead that works and doesn’t feel cheap, which is honestly all I was after.

I get where you’re at. I switched from a basic builder-grade head to a filtered one about four months ago, not the Glokore specifically but the same idea, and the first couple weeks I was second-guessing whether I’d wasted money. Water felt a little softer but I couldn’t tell if it was in my head.

What actually convinced me was my hair. Around week four or five I noticed it was less crunchy after drying, and my scalp wasn’t itchy the way it used to get in winter. That’s the thing that made it feel real to me, because I wasn’t expecting it and wasn’t looking for it. The water itself still just feels like water. I don’t think you’d ever walk in and go wow, this is filtered. It’s more of a slow background thing.

The other tell was the cartridge when I swapped it out. It had visible gunk on it, brownish stuff, and that was from water I’d been showering in for months with the old head. Seeing that made me feel like it was doing something, whether or not I could feel it day to day.

So for me the swap was worth it, but not because the shower feels dramatically different. It’s the stuff you notice weeks later that you didn’t realize was a problem before. Two weeks in is probably too early to feel strongly either way.

Filtered heads do make a difference over time.

I mostly care about how the water feels on my skin, and mine stopped feeling that slick chlorine-y way after a couple weeks. That alone made it worth keeping for me. I do like a simple shower though, so the filter change thing is the one part I don’t love. How often are you supposed to swap it?

I’d probably wait another month before deciding, mostly because the “new showerhead” feeling can fool you. A fresh head with clean holes and no buildup will feel different even if the filter part is doing nothing. I had a cheap basic one that got gross over time, and just swapping it for a clean basic one already felt like a water upgrade. So I’d be suspicious of that first impression.

The way I see it, if you can’t point to something specific after a few more weeks, like less buildup or your skin not feeling tight, then the filter isn’t giving you much. Which is sort of the quiet risk here: you paid extra for a cartridge and now you have to remember to replace it. That’s the part I’d be thinking about. Filters are a subscription in disguise if you actually keep up with them.

Soft water feel is my favorite part.

Mine came with a spare cartridge so I just marked the date on my phone to swap it. Two weeks isn’t much time to judge, but the cartridge itself is the part doing the work, so keeping up with that probably matters more than the head.

Two weeks is too early to call it. I swapped a cheap head for a filtered one and the real test was whether the cartridge actually got gross, which mine did after about six weeks. That told me more than how the water felt on day three.

Mine’s been in for about three months now and the difference I actually notice is my hair. It used to get that sort of squeaky-stiff feeling after washing, and that stopped maybe a month in. The water pressure staying decent surprised me too since I half expected a filter to choke it down.

Two weeks is nothing in the grand scheme. I’ve had mine for over a year and the difference is subtle, not dramatic. It’s not going to transform your shower but it does take the edge off if your water is rough.

Mine was a cheap builder grade head before this and the swap was worth it just for not getting that chalky crust on the nozzles every few weeks. That junk used to drive me nuts because half the holes would clog and spray sideways. With the Glokore I’ve had it up for a couple months and the face still looks clean, no white buildup creeping around the openings. Water pressure is fine too, which was my main worry since some of these filter heads choke the flow down to a sad trickle. It didn’t. Whether the filter itself is doing much I can’t prove, but the head staying clean and the spray staying even is enough for me to keep it. I’m not going back to the cheap one.

Alright, I’ll stick with it and see how the cartridge looks in a couple months. Appreciate all the feedback, at least now I know what to actually keep an eye on instead of just guessing. Worst case I’m out a few bucks and learned my water is fine.
