Mine worked through a wall but only when the lamp was already on. Sounds weird, I know. Here’s what I mean. I’d turn it on in the bedroom, walk out, close the door, and then use the remote from the kitchen to shut it off early if I changed my mind. That worked fine, no problem, every time. But trying to turn it ON from the kitchen through that same wall? Nothing. Dead. I’d have to crack the door and point it in.
So my theory is the remote isn’t the weak link, it’s the lamp. Once it’s already running, the sensor seems more awake or something. I don’t know the actual reason and I’m not going to pretend I do. I just know the pattern held for about three months of regular use until I stopped bothering with the remote entirely.
My honest take is you’re better off deciding before you walk out of the room. Set the timer, close the door, go do your thing. The remote is nice when you’re standing right there and don’t want to touch the unit after handling raw chicken or whatever. That’s the real use case in my house. Cross-room stuff was never reliable enough for me to count on it, even in the one situation where it technically worked.
If you really want to test your setup, turn it on first, leave the room, then try shutting it off from where you plan to be. That’ll tell you more than trying to turn it on cold.
Raw chicken juice doesn’t soak into it, which is the whole point. Mine wipes clean with one pass and a hot rinse, so the ten minute scrub thing doesn’t happen. Veggies after chicken on the same board I’d still skip, but that’s a habit thing.
I don’t buy the whole “fits small dogs” line. My sister’s 11 lb rat terrier wore it for two walks and it was cockeyed the entire time, tracker pulling the whole thing sideways. If a collar can’t stay straight on a dog that size, it’s not a real fit. I’d rather keep a tiny tag on a plain nylon strap.
High ceilings are gonna eat up anything a plug-in heater puts out. I had one in a room with vaulted ceilings and it only helped if I was sitting right next to it. It’s a personal warmer more than a room heater in that setup. Still beats nothing if you’re parked at a desk or couch all evening.
Small hands here too and I was half expecting to fumble it the first time. The grip is actually not bad once you get it positioned, but it did feel a little top heavy for me at first. Took me a couple of days before I stopped thinking about it. Never felt like it was gonna slip out though.
The 176+ countries bit is just roaming agreements, not magic signal pulling. If there’s zero tower, you’re still offline.
Bare skin after cleansing is the right call. Anything heavy under the mask just blocks the light from doing its thing. I’ve been doing it that way for months and the results have been consistent. No reason to complicate it.
Plastic and silicone will take a lot more abuse than people give them credit for. I’ve had random first aid stuff bake in my truck for years and the only thing that ever went bad was the adhesive on a tape roll. The bigger issue with keeping it in a car is actually remembering it’s there, not the temperature. Out of sight, out of mind until you actually need it, and if you’re digging around a glovebox during a choking emergency you’re already in a bad spot. Kitchen drawer makes more sense for most people because that’s where the food is. But if you eat in your car a lot, sure, keep one in the console. Just check the masks occasionally if it’s been through a brutal summer. I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.
Most of the noise complaints I see with these come from people expecting too much. It’s a tiny mic on a bud, not a podcast setup. Mine handles regular street noise fine, but if you’re standing next to a jackhammer, the person on the other end is gonna hear it. That’s just physics.
No card in the box. Mine came with the waterproof case, mounts, and the USB cable, but that was it. I remember checking the packaging twice because it felt like something was missing. It wasn’t.
The good news is you don’t need anything fancy. I grabbed a standard 64GB card at the store and it’s been fine for a full day of messing around. I’m not doing marathon recording sessions, just clips here and there while moving around. If you’re planning to leave it running for long stretches on the trail, maybe step up to 128GB so you’re not swapping cards. But for basic use, 64GB is plenty.
Just factor it into the cost before you pull the trigger. The camera itself is decent for the price, but they clearly expect you to bring your own storage.

The “one pull” thing is way overblown. I grabbed one after seeing the demo and tried it on a training mannequin just to see. It took me three pulls to get the object out because the first seal slipped. Still worked, but it was not this magical single-stroke thing they show.
Mine’s been up with two nails for a little over a month now and honestly it’s fine for what I use it for. There’s a bit of ripple near the bottom edge but you only see it when the screen is off. Once the projector is running I don’t notice it. If you’re the kind of person who inspects the screen instead of watching the movie, you’ll probably find something to complain about.
Pitch is part of it, but the real problem is the depth gauge on the tooth. If your chains have noticeably different tooth profiles, the clamp sits fine one day and wants to rock the next. I run a couple of older saws and it’s good on one, sloppy on the other. You really just have to try it on each chain you own before trusting it.
Mine’s been whirring since day one and it’s still going strong after a few months of steady use. If it’s a consistent hum and not anything rattling or grinding, I’d say it’s just the motor doing its thing. The manual ones are obviously quiet, but you’re comparing a motor to a lever. I wouldn’t lose sleep over it unless it starts sounding like it’s struggling.
I’ve had mine in the water plenty, but not for actual lap swimming. Mostly pool hangs and some snorkeling. The ring itself is fine, no issues with water getting in or the sensors acting weird afterwards. I just rinse it off with fresh water when I’m done and it’s been fine. I’d probably trust it for laps, but I’m not the one who has to wear it every day.
Different batches must be hit or miss. Mine came with one spare tip in the box, but it was the same size as the one already on the pen. If you want variety for different materials, you’re better off grabbing a set now.
I’d say it works, but you’re basically signing up for a workout if you’re doing a whole car. The bucket feed does fine as long as the water level stays above the pickup, but the second it gets low the stream starts sputtering. I just kept a second bucket ready and swapped them out. It’s not terrible, but it’s not the grab-and-go setup the ads make it seem like.
Mine had a break-in period too. I’m a stomach sleeper and the first two weeks I was waking up with a sore neck. Somewhere around week three it just stopped bothering me. Maybe the foam softened up or I got used to it, but I stopped noticing the height. Still not my favorite pillow ever, but it’s usable now.
