Thinking about getting a Tagsley for my wallet. But I already have a few cards in there and it’s pretty tight. Does the Tagsley still work fine if it’s pressed right up against credit cards and stuff? Not sure if that messes with the signal or anything. Also is it actually thin enough to not make my wallet bulge?

Mine sits sandwiched between two cards and a transit pass and it still pings fine. Thin enough that I forget it’s in there, though I did have to drop one loyalty card to close the wallet properly. I’d rather carry fewer cards than deal with a bulge, so that tradeoff works for me.

The wallet bulge thing is what I’d actually question. 1.8mm doesn’t sound like much on paper but if your wallet is already tight, adding anything makes it worse. Mine made a card slot basically unusable, so I ended up pulling a card out and it’s fine now. As for interference, I’ve had mine sitting against a debit card and a building access badge for a few months and it still shows up on Find My. I can’t say it never drops a ping but nothing I’d blame on the cards. The ringer is loud enough that I found it under a couch cushion, which was the whole point. It’s not invisible in your pocket though, that’s my gripe.

My wallet is pretty stuffed too and the Tagsley still pings from inside, so I don’t think the cards interfere much. What got me was the charging, mine only seems to work if I take it out and lay it flat on the pad.

I keep mine in the card slot behind my ID and it reads fine every time I’ve used it. My preference is a slim front pocket wallet anyway, so the thickness matters more to me than signal. It added a little bulk at first, but I stopped noticing after a week.

I’ve had mine in a wallet that’s honestly packed pretty full for about three months now, and the signal side of things has been a non-issue for me. Mine usually ends up wedged between my debit card and one of those loyalty cards you accumulate without trying, and it still shows up on Find My whenever I check. The one time I actually needed it, I’d left the whole wallet at a coffee shop and got a location ping from a couple blocks away, so the cards around it clearly weren’t blocking anything important.

Where I’d push back a little on the “thin enough” part is that it depends on what you’re comparing it to. Compared to an AirTag or one of those chunkier trackers, yeah, it’s basically nothing. But if your wallet is already at that point where you have to shove it closed, adding anything at all is going to make that worse, even something slim. Mine was in that category and I did notice the extra bit of thickness for the first week or so, mostly when the wallet was sitting in my back pocket. It settled down after that, or maybe I just stopped noticing.

The thing I actually appreciated more than the size was not having to think about it. No battery swap, no fiddling. It just sits there doing its thing.

Mine actually did start acting up once my wallet got really crammed. Not dead, but the ring would lag and Find My sometimes showed the wrong room. Pulled a couple cards out and it went back to normal, so tightness can matter.

The one thing I’d actually think about before buying is how often you want to pull the thing out to charge it. I’ve got mine in a wallet that isn’t crazy packed, maybe five or six cards, and the thickness itself wasn’t the problem. It’s more that the battery thing means eventually you’re digging it out of that tight slot to charge it, and if your wallet is already a pain to deal with, that gets old fast. Signal-wise I haven’t had any weirdness with cards sitting against it, so I don’t think that’s the part to stress over. Mine’s been in there a few months and it still pings fine when I use Find My. So yeah, for the signal question I’d say you’re fine. Just picture yourself fishing it out every so often and decide if that sounds annoying or not.

Mine stopped ringing reliably once my wallet got tight, so I wouldn’t count on it being totally unaffected. It still showed up in Find My, but the sound was muffled and sometimes wouldn’t go off at all. Moved it to the outer slot and it’s been fine since.

I actually went the other way and stopped keeping mine in my main wallet. Not because of signal, that part was always fine even squished in there. It was more that I got tired of digging it out every time I wanted to charge it, and my wallet was already stuffed. So now it lives in a little card holder I use for travel stuff and it’s been way less annoying. The thickness thing is real though, it does add a bit even if it doesn’t look like much on paper. If your wallet is already tight I’d honestly think about where else you could put it. Passport holder worked great for me.

I’d skip it if your wallet is already tight. The card itself is slim, but you’ve still got to leave a little room for the speaker to actually be audible, and in a jammed wallet that gets muffled fast.

I’ve had mine in a front pocket wallet with like 4 other cards for a few months and it still rings fine, so the signal thing hasn’t been an issue for me at all. Honestly I think the thickness concern gets blown out of proportion.

Thickness is what I’d actually be annoyed about. Signal stuff gets way overblown on these tracking cards, but people act like 2mm is nothing. Stack that on top of a wallet that’s already tight and suddenly you’re fighting to get your cards out every time. I had a similar slim tracker in a card wallet and pulled it after two weeks because closing the thing became a chore. It wasn’t the tracker’s fault, it was just one more layer in a spot that had zero room left. So if your wallet is already bulging now, adding anything is going to make that worse, no way around it. The tech part is fine. The physics part is the problem. Nobody online mentions that part because they’re too busy testing whether the ringer still goes off through a stack of cards. Yeah it does. Getting the wallet shut comfortably is the actual issue.
