I run mine with ice when I remember to grab some from the break room freezer, but most days it’s just water and it still keeps my corner of the office comfortable. The ice does make the first hour or so noticeably colder, but once it melts you’re back to the same thing anyway. I’d say start with water and treat ice as a bonus for hot afternoons.
I’ve had mine on the oven glass a few times now and it’s been fine. The steam does a better job on the baked-on spots than I expected, honestly. I just wipe the glass down after and it looks clear, no streaks or anything. I’d say keep using it the way you are.
I’m the odd one out here I guess. I use mine for pre-workout most days and I’ve already gone through two sets of batteries in about three weeks. Doesn’t seem to matter if I only do one drink a day, it just drains. Still like the mug though.
I think the bigger issue is where your local broadcast towers actually are, not where the window is. I’ve got mine set up in a room that faces the opposite direction from the towers, and it still works because the signal bounces around enough. The window thing seems to matter more when you’re in a fringe area or have a lot of hills between you and the towers.
The main thing I’d check is what direction your local stations broadcast from and whether there’s anything big between you and them, like a brick building or metal siding. If you’re in a decent suburban area, a few feet from the glass probably won’t change much. I’d say buy it, run a channel scan, and if you’re short on channels try moving it around during the scan. That’s all I did and it’s been fine since.
I usually plug mine in while I’m cleaning it out and getting water in it for the first time. That way I’m not sitting there waiting, and I know I’ve got a full charge for the first few cycles. It’s just easier for me to do it that way than to wonder if it’s got enough left in it.
I’ve had them for a few months and the touch controls are still overly reactive on mine. I’ve learned to grab them by the stem when adjusting, but if I brush the outer part even slightly it’ll skip a track. It’s manageable, just not something I’d call smooth.
Alright, thanks for the replies. Sounds like it takes care of itself, which is basically what I wanted to hear. I’ll just let it do its thing and stop worrying about it.
I’m only a week in too, but so far mine’s been fine with daily walks and the safe zone on. Haven’t had to charge it every day yet.
Mine came with three sizes in the box. The small ones fit me fine and I haven’t had any issues with them falling out.
Fifteen minutes is usually enough for a deck, even if you’re going slow. I’ve used mine on patios and it does the job without needing a top-up.
I usually grab whatever name brand AA is on sale and they work fine. The cheaper store brand ones seem to run out a little faster but still get the job done.
I’d probably just keep using it unless it actually starts leaking. Sometimes stuff like that just settles in and doesn’t get worse.
Mine felt like a rock the first night too. Gave it about a week and it loosened up enough to actually contour the way I wanted. I’d give it a few more nights before deciding.
I’d say go for it. The mouthguard is pretty flexible so it might not be as big of a deal as people think.
I think the rubber just softens a little from use, mine did that too after a few weeks but it still seals fine. Not something I worry about honestly.
I usually just toss mine on the charger when I notice the battery icon getting low, it never really feels like a problem.
I think the lower levels are just meant for really sensitive dogs or just getting their attention. I pretty much never use mine below 4 or 5.
I get about a year on mine with normal use. Two years feels optimistic but honestly it’s not a dealbreaker.
I use it at a pretty loud restaurant near me and social mode does the job. No issues with everything getting louder. I think people overthink this one.
Can’t say I’ve tested both modes back to back but the heating does warm up the room quicker than the cooling drops it. Still keeps my bedroom comfortable though.
