I’ve had a pair in my car for about eight months now, and they’ve mostly become part of my normal routine. I don’t wear them every single time I drive, but I grab them whenever I know I’ll be out during the middle of the day, especially on the highway. What I noticed pretty early on was that they don’t make the sun less bright in some dramatic way. It’s more that the harsh washout you get on a long stretch of road is easier to deal with. My eyes don’t feel as worn out after an hour or two behind the wheel.
The thing that really sold me was a weekend trip last spring. I was driving back home around 3 in the afternoon, sun was sitting right in that spot where the visor doesn’t quite cover it, and the road had that bright sheen. I put them on and it was still sunny, still glaring in places, but I wasn’t squinting constantly or getting that dull headache behind my eyes. That was enough for me. I didn’t expect them to fix everything, and they don’t, but they take the edge off enough that I notice when I forget them.
So for daytime driving, I’d say they’re worth it if you deal with a lot of open road or a commute that lines up with the sun. If you mostly do short trips around town, you might not get as much out of them. That’s just my take from using them a few times a week.
It works fine for client calls, that’s what I got mine for. I use it with a couple of French suppliers and the translation keeps up well enough. You just have to be a little patient when someone rambles.
If I were you I’d go with the DrFlexa over another plain sleeve. I used a neoprene sleeve for about a year before switching and the difference for walking and light stuff is mostly in the staying put, not in the support. Mine doesn’t slide down at all during a normal day, which was my main annoyance with the sleeve. On the stiffness question, yes you can feel the side pieces when you bend, but it’s not like the knee gets locked or anything. For me it’s more noticeable going up stairs or crouching than just walking around the house. Light workouts are fine too. It is a bit warmer than I expected for something breathable, but not worse than the old sleeve was. If your knee doesn’t need heavy support, this is probably the right kind of step up without going full orthopedic brace.
I actually noticed small stuff first. My router and the little clock on my desk both seemed fine before, but after a couple weeks they stopped doing this faint buzz I’d gotten used to. Nothing huge, just quieter. Phone charger I never paid attention to.
Mine holds up better than I expected in a messy yard, but the biggest difference for me was where I clip the remote. If I keep it on my belt instead of in my pocket, I get a much steadier signal when the dog is weaving around the swing set and garden beds. Same yard, same dog, just less dropouts. Could be coincidence, but it has been consistent for a few weeks now.
Three weeks in a garage isn’t really out of line with the 2 to 4 week range, especially if it’s been sitting out in the open. I’d just swap them when the smell drops instead of trying to stretch it.
Mine pulls from a bucket fine but I wouldn’t call it self suction in the way people expect. You still have to keep the hose end fully under water the whole time or it gulps air and loses it.
I’d skip it if you’re mainly after patio cleaning. I’ve had mine since early summer and use it for gutters and the fence, and the dial does change things, but it’s more about spray shape than raw force. For a quick rinse before scrubbing it’s fine.
Twist handles still feel kind of satisfying to use, that part I get. But after a few bottles in one evening my wrist notices it, and that’s where the WineCork Pro actually won me over. Less about speed for me, more that I can keep chatting while it does the work.
Socks never mattered for me. I actually stopped using mine under the desk after a few weeks because the mat kept sliding around on my floor and I got tired of fixing it mid-work.
I switched from a basic guide to the SawShark last season. The angle control is the real difference for me, less guesswork on each tooth. It’s still manual work but I don’t have to fight the file as much.
I kind of do the opposite. I fill it up whenever I remember and rarely let it run dry, but I’ve definitely topped it off mid day with cold water and ice and noticed the cool burst feels stronger right after. So if you’re only putting in leftover bottle water, maybe try tossing a couple ice cubes in there when you refill. Makes a bigger difference than the water level does.
I think the concern is more about how much clearance the intake area gets. I run mine on carpet in my bedroom but I made sure the unit has a little breathing space around it, not just flat against the floor. No issues with cooling or heating after several months of daily use.
That tacky feeling has never really bothered me because it disappears once the board dries. I usually just leave mine propped up for a couple of minutes after cleaning and it’s fine. I would not call it a flaw, just part of the surface being what it is.
The prickly feeling is the part I’d pay attention to. Twitching means it’s hitting the muscle, but a sharp, stinging sensation usually means the intensity is too high for that spot. I’ve had mine for a few months and I keep it just below where it starts to feel sharp, that’s the sweet spot for me.
I’m not going to lie, my first thought was the same with my cat. I keep mine on a narrow shelf and it’s never been an issue. The base is wide enough that it doesn’t feel like a light bump is going to send it flying.
Honestly I run mine in the mudroom where the dog sleeps and she has never once cared about the light or the noise. She’s old and mostly sleeps through everything, but even when she’s awake she doesn’t hover around it. The zap is more of a soft crackle anyway, not a loud snap that would startle her. I think the bigger thing is placement, like keep it off the floor and out of her direct sniffing range. The grid is exposed enough that I wouldn’t want her pressing her nose right up against it, but she’s never tried, so I don’t think it’s attractive to her at all. If your dog is the type that investigates every new thing, maybe run it on a shelf or counter out of reach for the first few days. Ours has been on for about three weeks now and the dog acts like it’s just part of the furniture.
I’ve had mine for a while and I do think the grounding does something for me, but it’s not about stress during the day. For me it’s been more about sleep. I notice a clear difference in how quickly I wind down at night if I’ve spent time with it earlier. The comfort factor is nice, but I don’t think that alone would do it for me.

I notice volume differences depending on the room too. In my bedroom it sounds plenty loud, but out in the garage it’s noticeably fainter. Never had the old Tile to compare side by side, but the iTagPro gets the job done for finding my bag in the house.
It kind of depends on what you mean by “middle of the apartment.” I ran mine on a bookshelf that was definitely not near any exterior wall and still got the major networks fine. It’s not like the antenna needs to be glued to the glass. The channel scan is what really matters, so just try it and see what comes in before you assume it won’t work.
I’ve had mine sitting on a shelf near the window and it catches the dog two houses down when he starts up. I didn’t have to adjust it or stand around with it. As long as there’s not a solid wall right in between, it seems to pick up the bark just fine from a good distance.
Mine paired straight away with my Samsung, no drama at all. I did have to install the app first and make sure the earbuds were in pairing mode before it picked them up, but after that it’s been fine. I’ve used them for normal phone calls and music too, not just the translation stuff, and they behave like regular Bluetooth earbuds. One thing I noticed is that the app needs to be running in the background for the translation features to kick in properly. If I close it out completely, the earbuds still work for calls but the translation button does nothing. Took me a minute to figure that out. Not a dealbreaker, just something to know before you set them up.
I run mine with ice when I remember to grab some from the break room freezer, but most days it’s just water and it still keeps my corner of the office comfortable. The ice does make the first hour or so noticeably colder, but once it melts you’re back to the same thing anyway. I’d say start with water and treat ice as a bonus for hot afternoons.
