I actually think matcha comes out better than coffee in mine, no gritty bits at all. The trick is not overfilling it, I fill to about the line and let it run one cycle before I take a sip. Coffee is the one that leaves a little sludge at the bottom for me sometimes.

I’ve had mine in a wallet that’s honestly packed pretty full for about three months now, and the signal side of things has been a non-issue for me. Mine usually ends up wedged between my debit card and one of those loyalty cards you accumulate without trying, and it still shows up on Find My whenever I check. The one time I actually needed it, I’d left the whole wallet at a coffee shop and got a location ping from a couple blocks away, so the cards around it clearly weren’t blocking anything important.

Where I’d push back a little on the “thin enough” part is that it depends on what you’re comparing it to. Compared to an AirTag or one of those chunkier trackers, yeah, it’s basically nothing. But if your wallet is already at that point where you have to shove it closed, adding anything at all is going to make that worse, even something slim. Mine was in that category and I did notice the extra bit of thickness for the first week or so, mostly when the wallet was sitting in my back pocket. It settled down after that, or maybe I just stopped noticing.

The thing I actually appreciated more than the size was not having to think about it. No battery swap, no fiddling. It just sits there doing its thing.

Birds around my place actually did react to it at first, so I don’t think it’s a lost cause for them like some folks here are saying. Took about two weeks before they started avoiding the spot I had it pointed at. Maybe placement matters more than the frequency dial for birds.

Mine does the same thing and I’ve just accepted it as part of how these little cameras shoot. I mostly ride in open areas now so it barely comes up, but on the wooded sections the shadow detail is just kind of gone. Doesn’t bother me much since I’m not editing these into anything fancy.

Honestly, I still reach for the bucket and nozzle for the soap stage and only pull out the JetClean for the initial rinse. The one thing that surprised me is how much less water I go through with it, since it’s not just running wide open the whole time. It’s a decent middle ground for a driveway wash, nothing more.

Honestly, size was the last thing on my mind once I actually got mine in there. I have one of those mini fridges that’s more like a dorm situation, and it’s not exactly roomy. I ended up tucking it in the little compartment on the door where I used to keep a jar of pickles, and it’s been fine ever since.

I think the trick is not treating it like something that needs a dedicated shelf spot. It’s small enough that you can wedge it beside things without blocking airflow, at least in my experience. The only time I notice it is when I need to charge it, because I forget it’s back there. It never really got in the way of my actual food, which surprised me.

If you’ve got those really tall bottles or a ton of stuff crammed in, you might have to shuffle things around a bit, but it’s not a big footprint by any means. I’d say go for it.

in reply to: Does the Qinux Vapoxis leave streaks on windows? #10218

I think part of it comes down to how much water you’re leaving behind and how the glass is sitting when you go over it. When I first used mine on the living room window, I got a few dried patches and figured it was just the window having some old film on it from way back. Second time around, I moved slower and kept the steam head a bit further off the glass, and it came out pretty clean. Not perfect, but a lot better than the first try.

The thing is, windows are a bit different from tiles or a countertop where you can see the result right away. With glass, you don’t really notice until it dries, and by then it’s too late to do much about it. I’ve also noticed that if the window is getting direct sun at the time, it dries weird and leaves marks no matter what I do. So I try to do mine later in the day or on a cloudy morning.

I didn’t find that I needed to wipe after every time, but I did have to go back over a couple of spots with a dry cloth. Not a huge deal. I think the steam cleaner gets most of it, and then the last little bit is just the nature of glass and hot steam. I still use mine on the windows because it beats getting the bucket and squeegee out, but I also don’t expect it to look like a professional job every single pass.

I think the word “barrier” is doing a lot of heavy lifting with these things. Mine does a decent job of clearing out the space right around it, but I treat it like a campfire in that sense. You sit close enough, you benefit. You wander off to grab a drink or stand by the cooler, all bets are off.

I would not rely on it as your only protection if you are moving around at all. It is more of a “keep the immediate area comfortable” kind of tool. I use mine on the porch when I am just sitting in one spot reading, and it does seem to cut down on the buzzing near my ears. But if I get up to water the plants or something, I notice the difference pretty fast.

The 10 to 50 meter thing is probably based on some perfect open field with no wind and a stationary target. Real world use is a different story.

Mine does the same thing if I wipe it down and then try to use it right away, but it goes away once it sits for a minute. I think it’s just the water sitting on the surface. I’ve been using mine for a few months now and it’s never stayed tacky or anything.

I grabbed mine mainly for the same reason and honestly I think it does a decent job if you catch the stains early. I use mine a few times a week after my morning coffee and I can tell it keeps my front teeth from looking as dingy as they used to. Not a miracle worker, but I see enough of a difference that I don’t regret the purchase.

in reply to: Does the DrFlexa get warm after wearing it all day? #8589

I’ve noticed the same thing with mine, but it’s never really bothered me. I mostly wear it when I’m doing yard work or on my feet for a few hours at a time, and yeah, you can definitely feel some warmth building up around the sides after a while. I just assumed it comes with the territory when you’ve got that much material wrapped around your knee, especially if you’re moving around a lot.

What I did find is that it doesn’t get as hot as some other braces I’ve tried in the past. The open area around the kneecap seems to help a bit. It’s more of a cozy, snug warmth than a sweaty, uncomfortable one, if that makes sense. I’ve worn it through a full day of running errands and by the end it’s warm, but not to the point where I’m desperate to rip it off. Seems pretty normal to me.

in reply to: Does the Qinux Vapoxis work well on bathroom mirrors? #8553

I actually got mine mostly for the car interior, but I have used it on the bathroom mirror a couple of times when I was too lazy to grab the spray bottle. It’s not as bad as people make it sound, but you do have to treat it differently than you would a normal cleaner. The steam doesn’t really fog the glass up, it just kind of sits on the surface. If you go over it with a dry microfiber cloth right after, it comes out pretty clear.

The thing is, I still need the cloth. So, it’s not saving me a step there. What I did notice is that it strips off that soap scum film way better than my regular glass spray does, so the mirror stays clean for longer instead of getting that cloudy look again in a day. I guess it depends on how much you hate doing the initial wipe.

I actually think it does cut down on the crud building up on the showerhead itself, even if the glass still needs a wipe down.

It’s way closer to a deep massage than that weird tingly buzzing feeling.

It’ll cut through that old crust, just keep the speed up and let it do the work.

Can’t say I’ve run into that, and I’ve had mine since the spring. App opens, buds are already there, done. Maybe it’s a phone thing more than the buds themselves, I’ve seen Bluetooth act weird on certain Android updates. But no, mine connects every time without the song and dance.

in reply to: Does SynGas need a specific type of OBD2 port? #6627

I’d just plug it in and see what happens. The port itself has been the same standard shape for ages, so a 2008 model is not going to give you any trouble fitting it. If it clicks in and the car starts normally, you’re good to go. The only thing I’d keep an eye on is whether it actually settles in after the first few tanks, but that’s more about the device than the port.

in reply to: Does the CoolCove work well in a really small room? #6230

I’ll admit I was a little skeptical when I first got mine because the thing is so light and small that it almost feels like a toy when you unbox it. I have it in a spare room that’s maybe a bit bigger than your office, and I remember thinking there was no way this little unit would do anything noticeable. Turns out I was wrong about that pretty quickly.

The evenness thing is something I actually wondered about too. I tend to sit right next to it, so I half expected one side of the room to feel fine while the other side stayed stuffy. That hasn’t really happened, at least not in a way I notice during a normal workday. I think because the unit is so close to where you’re sitting in a small room, you kind of get the benefit of it without needing the air to travel far. It’s not like cranking a big AC in a hallway and hoping it reaches you, you know?

One thing I didn’t expect is that I use it more for the fan mode than anything else, especially in the middle of the day when I just want some air moving. The heat part is fine too, but I’ve mostly been using it to take the edge off in the morning.

I wouldn’t overthink the hot/cold spot stuff too much. For 80 square feet, you’re basically in the sweet spot for what it does. I’d say just make sure you don’t shove it behind a monitor or a stack of papers and you’ll be fine.

It’s really not a big deal. I run mine from the hallway all the time with the door shut and never had any issues. The remote still works fine and by the time I walk back to the room it’s already done its thing. I think you’re overthinking it a bit.
