I’m still using a regular hose nozzle with a bucket for washing my car. Been thinking about the JetClean but not sure if it’s actually an upgrade or just another gadget. Does the pressure feel noticeably stronger than a plain hose sprayer? I don’t need pro-level power, just enough to knock off mud without scrubbing forever.

I actually disagree with the idea that it’s just a gadget. I borrowed my brother’s JetClean for a couple of weekends specifically because my hose nozzle was driving me up the wall with how little it did against dried dirt. The difference was obvious the first time I used it. With the hose, I’d soak the car, scrub, soak again, scrub again, and still see that brown film hanging around on the lower doors and rocker panels. With the JetClean on the narrower setting, that stuff came off in one pass. I didn’t have to keep going back over the same spot.

The part that surprised me was how much less water I went through. I filled a bucket, dropped the intake hose in, and got the whole car done without refilling, which never happens with my garden hose setup. I know that sounds like a small thing, but when you’re dragging a hose around the driveway and fighting the kinks, having no cord and no faucet connection is a big deal for me. I did the wheels first, then the body, and still had battery left when I finished.

It’s not going to blast off caked-on mud the way a big pressure washer would, but you said you don’t need pro-level power. For normal road grime and dust, it’s a real step up from a plain sprayer. I’m planning to get my own instead of borrowing his again, mostly because I got tired of handing it back.

I wouldn’t call it a gadget just because it’s not a full pressure washer. My brother has one and it definitely sprays harder than the regular nozzle I use at home, enough that I noticed it right away. The mud came off my wheel wells with way less scrubbing than usual.

I switched from a hose nozzle to a JetClean a few months back and the difference is real. The spray actually has some bite to it, so mud and road grime come off without me scrubbing half as long. It’s not a full pressure washer, but for quick washes it does the job fine.

I don’t have the JetClean but I did borrow a friend’s portable washer once and honestly for car washing I went back to my bucket and nozzle. The stronger spray was nice for the wheels and lower panels, but it also flung water everywhere and I felt like I was chasing it around the driveway. With the hose I can aim where I want and rinse at my own pace. For knocking off light mud after a rainy drive, a normal nozzle plus a decent soak does the job fine for me. The extra pressure only really mattered when I let dirt sit for a week. So if your car isn’t caked, I’d say the upgrade is more about convenience than cleaning power.

I got one mainly for washing my bike and the occasional patio chair, not really for the car. It does hit harder than a garden hose for sure, but I still end up doing a quick pass with a sponge for anything stuck on. For mud and loose dirt it’s fine on its own.

Mine mostly gets used for rinsing off the car between actual washes. It’s handy for that since I don’t have to drag out the hose, but I still do the real cleaning with a bucket.

I’ve had the JetClean for about a month now and use it mostly for quick rinses when the car isn’t caked in mud yet. Compared to my old hose nozzle, the stream does feel tighter and it knocks off loose dirt faster, but for heavy mud you still need some scrubbing. What I like more is the bucket option since I don’t always want to drag the hose out. Battery life is the part I’m still unsure about long term. I get through one car fine, but two in a row gets close. If you just want something stronger than a nozzle without going full pressure washer, it’s a reasonable middle ground.

The pressure thing is kind of overblown on paper but in real use it does make a difference with mud. I mostly grab mine for the wheel wells now, way less scrubbing there. Still use the hose for the rest though.

The one thing that surprised me is how much less water I go through with it, since it’s not just running wide open the whole time. It’s a decent middle ground for a driveway wash, nothing more.

Mine actually stays in the trunk now, which I didn’t expect. It’s less about raw pressure and more that I’ll actually use it for a quick rinse when I’d never bother dragging the hose out. Battery is the tradeoff though, I’ve had it die halfway through a wash more than once.

The pressure isn’t that impressive, and mine bogs down fast when I use it off the bucket. A plain hose gets you 90% there for car washing anyway.

I’ve had mine since spring and the pressure difference over a hose nozzle is real, especially on caked on stuff. I don’t even bother with the bucket half the time now, just soak, spray, wipe. It’s not going to strip paint or anything but it definitely cuts down the scrubbing.

A plain hose nozzle is still fine for most washes, so I wouldn’t bother if that’s all you’re after. The JetClean earns its keep when there’s no tap nearby, like rinsing stuff at the back of the yard. Pressure wise it’s a bit stronger but nothing dramatic.

My view on this flipped twice, which I didn’t expect. When the JetClean first started showing up in threads like this I figured it was a toy, one of those gadgets you use twice and then it lives on a shelf. Then I borrowed one from my brother for a weekend of cleaning the balcony and the car, and I came away thinking the pressure is fine for what it is. Not amazing, just fine.

What changed my mind wasn’t the power though. It was how little water it uses and how fast I could just grab it and go. With my hose setup there’s always the drag of unrolling everything, connecting, dealing with the kinks, and by the time I’m done I’ve used way more water than I needed. The JetClean felt lighter on that front.

The part I’m still unsure about is whether that convenience is worth it long term for someone who already has a working hose. I keep going back and forth because the hose never needs charging and never runs out mid job. So I’m not fully convinced yet, but I’m closer to buying than I was a month ago.
