Does the DappSmile actually help with coffee stains or is that just marketing?

I’ve been seeing the DappSmile everywhere and I’m thinking about getting one, mainly for the coffee stains on my front teeth. I know it’s not a professional cleaning, but has anyone noticed a real difference with surface stains? Just wondering before I spend the money.

I got one mostly for the same reason and it does take the edge off coffee stains, but you have to stay on top of it. If I skip a few days the stains creep back pretty fast. It’s not magic, but it’s better than staring at my teeth in the mirror wishing they were cleaner.

I had the opposite experience honestly. Used it for a couple weeks on my coffee stains and barely noticed anything different. The vibration feels strong but it really just seemed to skim the surface. I ended up going back to my regular routine and saving for a polish at the dentist instead.

So far mine has been hit or miss. It gets rid of some of the daily buildup, but I wouldn’t count on it for anything that’s been sitting on your teeth for weeks. I think people expect it to do way more than it actually can.

I grabbed mine mainly for the same reason and honestly I think it does a decent job if you catch the stains early. I use mine a few times a week after my morning coffee and I can tell it keeps my front teeth from looking as dingy as they used to. Not a miracle worker, but I see enough of a difference that I don’t regret the purchase.

I’d say it helps more with the everyday film than anything that’s already set in. I used mine for about a month and my teeth did look a bit less dingy, but it was nowhere near what the ads make it look like. If you’re expecting a whitening effect, you’ll be disappointed. It’s more of a maintenance thing.

Mine is a few months old now and I still use it a couple times a week. Coffee stains on my front teeth are definitely less noticeable than before, but I also switched to drinking through a straw at work, so I can’t give it all the credit. It does a decent job on the surface stuff if you’re consistent with it.

It helps with new stains, not the ones that have been baking in for years. I noticed a difference within a few weeks of using it on my front teeth, but I also wasn’t expecting a miracle. If you’re diligent with it, it does the job.

I think it depends what you mean by stains. If you’re expecting it to erase years of coffee buildup in one go, you’ll be disappointed. But as a maintenance thing between dentist visits, I’ve found it keeps my front teeth from getting that dingy look in the first place. That alone was worth it for me.

I’d say it’s more of a maintenance tool than a stain eraser. If your coffee stains are fresh and light, it seems to help keep them from building up. But if they’ve been there a while, you’re probably better off saving the money for a cleaning.

Mine definitely helps, but only if I stay on top of it. I use it every other day or so and the coffee film doesn’t get a chance to build up like it used to. If you let it go for a week, you are back to scraping.

I actually got mine for the same reason and I’m pretty happy with it, but not for the reason you’d think. The coffee staining on my front teeth hasn’t vanished or anything dramatic, but I’ve noticed my teeth feel way less “slick” and gross by the end of the day. That alone made me keep using it. I think the stain thing is a side effect more than the main event. Like, if I use it regularly, the stains don’t seem to get darker or worse, which is good enough for me honestly. I also caught myself using it after a heavy tea day and my teeth just looked a bit brighter in the mirror, nothing crazy but noticeable. I wouldn’t expect it to fix years of buildup, but for keeping things from getting worse, it does the job for me. I’d say get it if you’re okay with maintenance, not miracles.

I got one and honestly barely use it now, didn’t do much for my stains.

I was skeptical too, but for me it does work on coffee stains, just not the way people expect. I use it maybe twice a week and my teeth definitely look less dingy than before. It’s not magic, but it does seem to scrub off that daily layer before it sets in.

I got one mostly out of curiosity and honestly the coffee stain thing depends on where you are with them. My stains were pretty set in and I didn’t see them disappear, but after a few weeks I did notice the front teeth looked a bit brighter overall. It’s not magic, but it wasn’t nothing either.

If you’re already dealing with stubborn buildup, it’s not going to fix that overnight. It’s more of a scrape-and-polish for the front surfaces that you can see in the mirror. I’d say just start on the gentlest setting and don’t press hard, that’s where people mess up and end up regretting it.

It works if your stains are still fresh-ish. I caught mine before they got too dark and it keeps them from building up again. Not a whitening thing, just a scrub that actually gets the daily coffee junk off. I use it a few nights a week and it does the job for me.

If your stains are still fairly light, it’ll probably help. Mine were at that weird middle stage where they weren’t dark yet but definitely noticeable, and it did knock them down a bit. Not completely, but enough that I stopped feeling like I needed to smile with my mouth closed. I wouldn’t call it a whitening thing though. It’s more like scrubbing the surface, not changing the actual color of the tooth. What got me is how easy it is to press too hard and irritate your gums. First time I used it I was way too aggressive and my gums felt raw for a day. You really have to let the vibration do the work and just glide it along. If your stains have been there for years, I’d probably skip it and save the money for a cleaning.

It’s not going to erase stains that have been sitting there for years. If your coffee stains are still on the lighter side, it can help keep them from getting worse, but don’t expect a dramatic difference. I’d treat it as a maintenance tool, not a fix. If you’re already past the point where you notice them in photos, save your money for a cleaning.

It’s probably oversold for what it is. I’d say it’s more for keeping things from getting worse than actually removing what’s already there, and the marketing makes that line blurrier than it should be. If your stains are still light, maybe, but don’t expect it to do the work of a hygienist.

Good to know, guess I’ll keep expectations low and just try it.
