I grabbed mine mainly for the same reason and honestly I think it does a decent job if you catch the stains early. I use mine a few times a week after my morning coffee and I can tell it keeps my front teeth from looking as dingy as they used to. Not a miracle worker, but I see enough of a difference that I don’t regret the purchase.
I’ve noticed the same thing with mine, but it’s never really bothered me. I mostly wear it when I’m doing yard work or on my feet for a few hours at a time, and yeah, you can definitely feel some warmth building up around the sides after a while. I just assumed it comes with the territory when you’ve got that much material wrapped around your knee, especially if you’re moving around a lot.
What I did find is that it doesn’t get as hot as some other braces I’ve tried in the past. The open area around the kneecap seems to help a bit. It’s more of a cozy, snug warmth than a sweaty, uncomfortable one, if that makes sense. I’ve worn it through a full day of running errands and by the end it’s warm, but not to the point where I’m desperate to rip it off. Seems pretty normal to me.
I actually got mine mostly for the car interior, but I have used it on the bathroom mirror a couple of times when I was too lazy to grab the spray bottle. It’s not as bad as people make it sound, but you do have to treat it differently than you would a normal cleaner. The steam doesn’t really fog the glass up, it just kind of sits on the surface. If you go over it with a dry microfiber cloth right after, it comes out pretty clear.
The thing is, I still need the cloth. So, it’s not saving me a step there. What I did notice is that it strips off that soap scum film way better than my regular glass spray does, so the mirror stays clean for longer instead of getting that cloudy look again in a day. I guess it depends on how much you hate doing the initial wipe.
I actually think it does cut down on the crud building up on the showerhead itself, even if the glass still needs a wipe down.
Can’t say I’ve run into that, and I’ve had mine since the spring. App opens, buds are already there, done. Maybe it’s a phone thing more than the buds themselves, I’ve seen Bluetooth act weird on certain Android updates. But no, mine connects every time without the song and dance.
I’d just plug it in and see what happens. The port itself has been the same standard shape for ages, so a 2008 model is not going to give you any trouble fitting it. If it clicks in and the car starts normally, you’re good to go. The only thing I’d keep an eye on is whether it actually settles in after the first few tanks, but that’s more about the device than the port.
I’ll admit I was a little skeptical when I first got mine because the thing is so light and small that it almost feels like a toy when you unbox it. I have it in a spare room that’s maybe a bit bigger than your office, and I remember thinking there was no way this little unit would do anything noticeable. Turns out I was wrong about that pretty quickly.
The evenness thing is something I actually wondered about too. I tend to sit right next to it, so I half expected one side of the room to feel fine while the other side stayed stuffy. That hasn’t really happened, at least not in a way I notice during a normal workday. I think because the unit is so close to where you’re sitting in a small room, you kind of get the benefit of it without needing the air to travel far. It’s not like cranking a big AC in a hallway and hoping it reaches you, you know?
One thing I didn’t expect is that I use it more for the fan mode than anything else, especially in the middle of the day when I just want some air moving. The heat part is fine too, but I’ve mostly been using it to take the edge off in the morning.
I wouldn’t overthink the hot/cold spot stuff too much. For 80 square feet, you’re basically in the sweet spot for what it does. I’d say just make sure you don’t shove it behind a monitor or a stack of papers and you’ll be fine.
