He’s pretty easygoing, which is probably why the subscription has lasted this long. The picky ones are a whole different story, and two hours once a week honestly doesn’t sound bad if it cuts out the half-eaten bowls. Good call getting the vet to check the recipe.
Mine does the same thing and it’s been that way with every phone I’ve had, so I just treat it as normal. I still keep the map up because even when it stops updating for a minute, it’s usually close enough to know which way I’m headed. It’s never actually left me stranded or anything.
I’ve used mine with a power bank a few times out on the deck and it ran fine on low, though I never really timed it. My only tip is to top off the water tank before you head out, since it’ll dry out before the power bank gives up.
I went the other direction with mine and hung a thick quilt over the curtain rod, which did more than the divider ever did for me. The divider mostly just gave me something to look at besides the street. If you already have a heavy blanket sitting around, try that first before spending money.
I went the other direction and actually bought a little rubber mat for mine before it even arrived, mostly because I’d read somewhere that these things can sweat a bit in humid weather. Turned out to be kind of unnecessary for how I use it. Mine sits in a carpeted spare room now and the only moisture I’ve ever noticed was a tiny bit around the fill opening when I got clumsy topping it off, not from the unit itself.
What I didn’t expect was that the mat caused its own minor annoyance. The cooler kind of slid around on the smooth rubber whenever I bumped it, and dust and carpet fuzz collected along the edges of the mat constantly. So I ended up ditching it and just setting the thing directly on the carpet like you’re doing. That’s been my setup for a good while now with no issues.
I will say this though, if you ever move it around a lot while the tank is full, that’s probably when a spill becomes more likely. Mine mostly stays put, so it’s not really a concern for me. But if you’re the type to carry it room to room, having something underneath could save you a headache. Not a big deal either way though, and you’re clearly not having problems as is.
I used to mess with containers and all that, but now I just leave it in the bag and fold the top over a few times. For a big bag that takes a couple months to finish, I do usually dump the last bit into a smaller container so it doesn’t sit there forever. The original bag seems to hold up fine though.
I’ll disagree a bit here, mine does more than take the chill off. I use it in a small box room about 3x3m and it gets properly warm in there, not just your feet. You do have to close the door though, otherwise it’s fighting a losing battle.
A week or so is pretty normal, but some cats take longer. Mine spent the first few days under the dresser and then just wandered out like nothing happened. Leaving a worn t-shirt of yours near the hiding spot helped, I think, but who knows. Just go about your day and let the cat come to you.
Mine has handled a couple of those thicker bottles without any fuss, just needed a second to get it lined up straight. I still keep a manual one in the drawer for the weird shapes though.
If you’re worried about the bill side of things, that’s the part I’d actually think about. Mine is cheap enough to run for an hour here and there, but when I left it going most of a cold Saturday the meter definitely noticed. It’s fine as a spot heater, just not something I’d leave cranked for hours on end.
Mine gets used for this way more than for my keys, if I’m being honest. I’ve got a toddler who likes to wander off with my phone, so I just press the button on the tag and follow the sound. Works every time.
I’d probably just leave the adapter plugged in and charge my phone somewhere else if I really needed to. In my car the 12V outlet is still free, so I picked up a cheap dual charger for that and it’s been fine. If you don’t have one of those though, then yeah, you’re kinda choosing between wireless CarPlay and charging.
I’ve had mine in an open kitchen and dining area that’s bigger than 120 sq ft and it still did its job fine. So I don’t think that number is as unrealistic as people make it sound. It’s not going to blast through walls or anything, but in one open space it covered more than I expected.
A little settling after a few hours is pretty normal with these adjustable ones. Mine does the same thing on longer days and it’s never slid down on me either, just goes a bit softer. I usually give the straps a quick tug when I notice it and that’s it.
I’ve had my GrillWizz about a year now and my grates are the original ones from a 2007 Weber, so they’ve got their share of wear. I actually think the spinning action is easier on them than dragging a wire brush back and forth. The bristles flex instead of digging in, if that makes sense. That said, mine did leave one shiny patch on a spot where the porcelain was already chipped, but that was going to flake off eventually anyway. The bigger thing I noticed is it doesn’t get into the corners as well as a handheld brush, so I still keep one around for the edges. Not a dealbreaker for me but worth knowing. Curious if anyone else has noticed the corner thing or if it’s just how I’m holding it.
Mine helped more with the overall redness and general glow than the individual marks themselves. The spots I had from old breakouts did soften a bit after a couple months of consistent use, but nothing dramatic. Worth trying if you’re patient, just don’t expect it to zap them quickly.
I actually find the phrasebook faster in some situations, no joke. If I already know roughly what I want to say, flipping to a page beats fiddling with an app and waiting on a connection. The earbuds win for hearing replies back, but for quick stuff I still grab the book sometimes.
Showering once a day is still plenty for a filter to do its thing. The water touches your skin and hair the whole time you’re in there, so it’s not like it needs multiple showers to matter. If anything, I’d say the folks showering twice a day just notice it faster.
Mine stay in fine for normal stuff like walking around the house or sitting at my desk, which is mostly what I use them for anyway. I’ve got pretty average ears though, so I can’t really say how they’d do on smaller ones. They’re light enough that I forget I’m wearing them half the time.
Mine’s been going since last fall and the only “pay” prompt I ever got was for some premium sleep coaching thing, which I ignored and it never came back. All the normal tracking stuff stayed open. My wife uses the cycle tracking on hers and hasn’t hit a wall either. So far so good on my end.
Mine runs off the little control pod, so the wire only comes out when it needs a top up. I usually get a few sessions in before I have to charge it again, and I just leave it plugged in overnight. Walking around with it on is fine.
My dad is 81 and has a bit of a tremor, and he does fine with his. Not sure it’s the steadiness so much as not having to squeeze anything, that part he really likes.
I went into it expecting the remote to be basically a same room kind of thing and honestly it changed my habits more than I thought it would. When I first got the unit I figured I would just get up and use the touchscreen since it is right there on the wall, so the remote seemed like a nice extra more than anything I would actually rely on. After a couple months though I noticed I was reaching for it way more than the panel, mostly little stuff like bumping the temp while I am getting ready in the morning or switching modes without walking over. That part surprised me.
Where I land now is that I would not plan around using it from far away. If I am in another part of the house and want to change something, I just walk over. It is not a big trip and I would rather not stand there waving the remote at a wall hoping it catches. The remote is genuinely handy, just not something I treat as whole home coverage. For me it is a close range convenience and that is fine, it does what I need it to.
We had low pressure in our last place, like the kind where you stand under the shower and sort of rotate slowly hoping to catch the good spot. When we moved into this house the pressure was better but still nothing wild, and I grabbed the AquaSylk mostly for the filtering side since our water is hard enough that the kettle tells the story.
What I noticed with pressure is that it didn’t really add anything magical, but it also didn’t choke the flow the way I expected a filter head to. The spray feels a bit more concentrated than our old head, which I think is the whole micro-pressurization thing doing whatever it does. It’s not like someone turned up a valve. More like the water is coming out in a tighter pattern so it hits you instead of fanning out and dribbling down the wall.
That said, our old head was one of those wide flat ones that sprayed everywhere, so I might just be comparing it to something that was already bad at feeling strong. If your current head is a basic one and your feed line is the issue, I don’t think this is going to fix that. The filter part has been fine for us though, water feels less harsh on my skin and the shower doesn’t smell as chlorine-y. Pressure wise it’s just kind of there, not worse, not dramatically better.
I’ve had mine going for a few weeks now and my place is never fully dark either. The bulb in my kitchen hood stays on overnight and the trap still fills up, so I really don’t think you need blackout conditions for it to pull bugs in.
I wore mine on my ring finger for a while, then switched to my index finger just because it fit better, and honestly the readings looked about the same to me. The app does let you set which finger and hand you’re using, so it’s not like you’re locked into one spot. I’d just go with whatever finger feels comfortable enough to forget about.
