I think the ice chamber sounds like one of those features you try once and then stop bothering with. Probably works fine with just water if the office gets warm, the fan alone should help.
Eh, it’s probably fine. If your water pressure is still good and the water feels a bit different, that’s likely the main thing it’s doing. I wouldn’t worry too much about whether you see gunk or not.
I think the whole “must have a timer” thing is a bit overblown. I just switch mine off when I’m done with it and it’s been fine.
I’ve used Earscribe with both an Android and an iPhone and they worked fine. The app looks a little different between the two but the translation part seemed the same. I’d say go for it, especially if you’re both planning to use it together.
I’ve got mine in a similar size room and honestly it’s been fine for that. The IR isn’t going to blow you away but I can definitely tell if my dog is on the sofa or not.

Honestly, I think it’s the surface texture more than anything. Wood has a little give to it, so the blade sinks in differently. The Vanotium feels harder under the knife, which can make you think it’s dulling it faster, but I haven’t noticed any actual damage.
I usually just plug mine in when it’s connected to the TV. I figure if I’m already sitting there, might as well not have to worry about it running out. Works fine for me that way.

I get what you mean about the stuffy office feeling. I think it helps a bit even when it’s humid, just having that airflow on you makes a difference. Maybe not a huge temp drop but it’s better than nothing.
