Jenna LeeMemberI was wondering about this for a while. When you’re using Translattia and someone suddenly switches to another language, does it pick up on that automatically or do you have to change it in the app manually? I’m thinking about using it at work with a few colleagues who mix languages a lot.

SarahMParticipantHonestly, I think it handles it pretty well from what I’ve seen. It picks up the language switch on its own without you having to tap anything.

Dave RunnerMemberIt switches automatically from what I’ve seen. I haven’t had to mess with the app mid-conversation or anything.

MemberI’ve used it in a group where people bounce between Spanish and English pretty fast and it caught on without me doing anything. I didn’t have to open the app or tap anything, it just switched. Pretty smooth for how much mixing was happening.

MemberNot totally sure about automatic switching every single time. I’ve seen it miss a language change if someone speaks pretty fast or mumbles a bit. Still works fine for the most part, just something to keep in mind.

MemberI think it mostly figures it out on its own, but I wouldn’t bet on it catching every single quick switch. Might have to tap the app now and then if people are really flying through languages.

MemberFrom what I’ve seen, it mostly figures it out on its own. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, but for casual back-and-forth it’s fine.

MemberHonestly I haven’t run into that situation much myself, mostly just use it for one language at a time. Sounds like it does okay for most people though.

MemberI’ve had it handle switching pretty well in my experience, but I think it depends a bit on how clear the person’s voice is when they switch. One of my coworkers likes to throw in random French phrases and it usually catches them, though there’s been a couple times it just stayed silent for a second. Not a huge deal for us though, still gets the job done.

MemberIt handles switching fine for most situations I’ve tried. I wouldn’t call it a big deal either way.

MemberI wouldn’t overthink it too much honestly. I’ve seen people say it mostly figures out the switch on its own, and for a work setting where people are mixing languages it probably does the job well enough.

MemberI’d probably just let the app do its thing and see how it goes. If it misses a switch here and there, tapping the app once isn’t that big of a deal in a work setting. Sounds like it handles most of the heavy lifting anyway.

Mike TurnerMemberIt handles the switch automatically most of the time from what I’ve seen. Works well enough for mixed conversations without fiddling with the app constantly.

Emma JarrisMemberI think it does pick up on it automatically for the most part. I’ve had a few times where it got a bit confused if someone switched really fast, but it sorted itself out after a sentence or two. Not something I’d stress about for a work thing.
22 de July de 2026 at 22:01 #5739
Matt__MemberI’ve seen it pick up mid-sentence switches more often than not, so I wouldn’t stress too much about manually changing it. The app seems to just roll with whatever language comes through.

Jenna LeeMemberThanks everyone, that clears it up. I’ll just let the app figure it out and see how it goes with my coworkers. Sounds like it should handle the mix well enough for what we need.
