I’ve got a small electric chainsaw I use for trimming branches, and I’m wondering if the Qinux Klampero will actually fit the chain on it. The product page says it works with standard chains, but mine’s pretty narrow. Anyone tried it on a smaller saw yet?

I think it depends on how narrow your chain really is. I used mine on a small saw and it worked okay, but it wasn’t a super tight fit. Maybe check the specs on your chain model first.

I’d check the pitch on your chain first. The Klampero fit fine on my little saw, but I’ve got a pretty common 3/8 low profile setup. Could be hit or miss if yours is way off from that.

Guess it depends on the saw. Mine’s a cheap little electric too and it clamped on fine, no issues. Didn’t even check the pitch beforehand.

Honestly, I wouldn’t assume it’ll fit just because some random person’s cheap saw worked. Chain sizes vary more than people admit. If yours is really narrow, you’re probably better off measuring it first instead of gambling on a product page.

I think it probably depends on the exact chain, mine is a small electric too and it clamped on okay but it felt a bit snug. Not sure if that’s normal or if yours would be the same.

I think people overthink this. If it clamps on and stays put while you run the file through, it’s probably fine. Worst case you return it.

It’s probably fine. I wouldn’t overthink it, these things usually clamp on tight enough to get the job done even if it feels a little snug.

I haven’t tried it on a super tiny chain, but the clamp on mine felt pretty adjustable. It kind of just squeezes down until it’s tight, so I’d be surprised if it couldn’t handle a narrow one.

Honestly, I’d probably just try it and see. These clamp-on sharpeners mostly rely on the screw to tighten down, so as long as the chain isn’t something totally off-size, it should hold well enough to run a file through. I’d be more worried about the file size matching your chain than the clamp.

Probably works fine. If it clamps down with the screw tight enough, chain width shouldn’t be a huge issue. I’d just give it a try and see.

I have a small pole saw chain and it worked fine, the clamp just squeezed down enough to hold it steady. Took a few tries to get the angle right since the chain was pretty narrow but once I did it sharpened up okay.

Honestly, I think you’re fine. I’ve got a pretty small chain on my little trimmer and it clamped down without any real fuss. Took me a minute to get the angle right but after that it did the job. Not going to overthink it, it’s working for me so far 👍
