I can see why you’d wonder about the vents. I think they’re more of a safety thing than something that actively fixes mouth breathing. Mine still opens a bit at night and I don’t really notice the airflow doing much. But it hasn’t bothered me enough to stop using it.
It’s funny, I actually thought the fan mode moved more air than I expected for such a small unit. Maybe it depends on where you put it or the room size.
Honestly I think it helps a little but not as much as people make it sound. Water beads off fine but the dirt still builds up eventually.
I think people get way too caught up in this. Unless your shelf is on the floor or crammed in a corner, it’s probably going to work the same. I wouldn’t bother drilling into the wall unless you really want it out of the way.
If you’re in a dry climate it does feel noticeably cooler than a regular fan, but it’s still not going to change the room temperature or anything. I’d say it’s worth it over a plain fan if you don’t mind refilling the tank, but don’t expect AC-level cooling.
I’d just plug it in and not overthink it. These multi-port chargers split power around, so you’re never getting the full 100W to one device unless nothing else is drawing. It’s fine for topping up overnight or while you’re not hammering the laptop.
I’d say if you’re not using it heavily the four weeks is probably overkill. I swap mine when the flow starts slowing down noticeably, which takes way longer than that.
I’ve had mine for a while now and the angle guide has never moved on me during use. It just clicks into place and holds steady. For basic sharpening it takes the thinking out of it and that’s enough for me.
I’d probably skip it on matte paint. Even if it works fine on clear coat, matte is just a different beast and once you change that finish it’s pretty much done. Not worth the risk for a scuff.

People make this way more complicated than it needs to be. Same watts, same cost, plain and simple. The Epicooler might feel nicer because it moves air around, but it’s not going to save you money. I’d just keep whatever works.

I used it on a dark metallic gray car and didn’t notice any haze. Just wiped it off pretty quick and it looked fine.
