Been using my CoolCove for a few days now and it works fine for my room. Just wondering if anyone has tried both the shelf placement and the wall mount, does it make a big difference for how the air moves around?

I haven’t tried the wall mount yet, but I’ve got mine sitting on a shelf about chest height and it seems to push air around the room pretty evenly. Honestly, I think the shelf works fine unless you’re trying to save floor space. I’d probably only bother with the wall kit if I wanted it out of the way.

I think it probably depends more on your room layout than anything else. Shelf placement might be fine if the air isn’t blocked, but wall mount could change the direction a bit. Not totally sure it’s a huge difference though.

I had mine on a shelf for the first week, then tried the wall mount just to see. Honestly, the wall mount felt like it spread the air out a bit more evenly across the room, but the shelf spot was fine too if you don’t want to drill holes. I ended up keeping it on the wall since it looks cleaner and keeps my desk space free. No issues with either setup though.

I tried both. Shelf was fine for my room, but the wall mount definitely felt like it pushed the air around better instead of just blasting right past me.

Wall mount made a bigger difference than I expected. Felt like the air actually moved across the room instead of just hitting the back of the couch.

I stuck mine on the wall pretty much right away, so I never really tested it on a shelf. It seemed like the air had a cleaner path that way, but I’m not totally sure how much of a difference it actually makes. Works fine for me though, no complaints.

I’d probably just try whatever fits your space better without overthinking it. If the shelf is already at a decent height and not blocked, I doubt you’d notice a huge difference for most rooms.

I only tried the wall mount because I didn’t have a good shelf spot for it. Worked fine for me, but I honestly didn’t compare it to anything else.

I’m not really convinced the wall mount makes that big of a difference. I’ve got mine on a shelf about waist high and the air moves around my room just fine. Probably depends more on where you put it than how you mount it.

I think people overthink this one. If your shelf is at a decent height and not blocked by anything, it’s probably fine. I wouldnt go through the trouble of mounting it unless you really need the space or the shelf is too low.

I just left mine on a shelf because I didn’t feel like drilling into the wall, and it works okay for me. I figure unless your shelf is super low or behind a bunch of stuff, you probably won’t notice much of a difference.

I’d probably just try the wall mount if you can spare the time. It keeps the air from bouncing off anything behind it, which seemed to help in my setup. Not a huge difference, but noticeable if the room gets stuffy.

I think people get way too caught up in this. Unless your shelf is on the floor or crammed in a corner, it’s probably going to work the same. I wouldn’t bother drilling into the wall unless you really want it out of the way.

honestly, I just left mine on a shelf and it’s been fine. didn’t really feel like messing with the wall mount.

I just stuck mine on a shelf and didn’t even bother with the wall mount. Honestly can’t imagine it would change much unless you’ve got a really cramped spot.

I had mine on a shelf for a while and it seemed fine, so I never tried the wall mount. Honestly feels like one of those things where if it’s working for you already, you’re probably not missing much.

Appreciate everyone chiming in. Sounds like the wall mount might give a slightly cleaner airflow if you’re particular about it, but for a normal room on a shelf it’s probably not a night-and-day difference. I’ll probably just leave mine where it is and not overthink it. Thanks for the input, thread answered my curiosity.
