MemberThinking about picking up a Coolizi Coolzy for my home office but I keep seeing mixed stuff about the remote control range. Does the wireless remote actually work from across the room or do you have to be right next to the unit? Not trying to get up every time I want to change the temp.

Luis_A91MemberI haven’t had any issues with the remote range on mine. I can change the temp from across the room without a problem.

MemberHonestly, I think it’s fine. I can change the temp from the couch without having to get up or anything. Maybe some people just have bad luck with theirs or something.

PixelKevinMemberI think it depends a bit on where you put the unit and if there’s anything blocking the signal, but mine reaches across my office without any issues. Not totally sure about going through walls or anything, but within the same room it’s been fine for me.

MemberI keep seeing people say it’s fine, but I’m a bit paranoid about that too. I’d probably end up placing it behind my desk or something and then the remote would be useless.

MemberIt works fine from across my living room so I don’t think range is actually a real issue. Probably just people putting the unit behind something that blocks the signal.

MemberI think people overthink this one. Mine works fine from across the room, no issues. Maybe if you hide it behind a big metal desk or something it could be a problem, but for normal use it’s not a big deal.

Ryan__TMemberWorks fine from across my office, never had to aim it or anything. I think people just overthink it until they actually use it.
21 de July de 2026 at 22:20 #5676Alex Morgan
MemberI’d say it works fine from a normal distance. Haven’t noticed any issues with mine.

MemberI wouldn’t worry too much about it. I can change settings from a good ten feet away without any trouble, even with the unit kind of tucked to the side. It’s not like you have to wave the remote right at it or anything.

MemberI think people probably overthink the remote thing. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, it’s probably fine from a normal distance.

MemberMine works fine from my couch, which is about 12 feet away. I think the people having issues might have it tucked behind something metal or a thick wall. Not something I’d worry about unless you’re planning to use it from another room.
22 de July de 2026 at 10:14 #5694RonWeek
MemberI wouldn’t stress about it too much. I can change settings from my desk without any problem and it’s not like I’m sitting right on top of it.
22 de July de 2026 at 11:15 #5698Lopeza
MemberI’ve had mine for a few months and never had a problem with the remote. I’d say it’s fine.

Mike ReynoldsMemberMine works fine from my desk, which is about 10 feet away. I think people just expect it to work through walls or something.

pixelnomadParticipantHonestly, I think the remote range complaints are blown out of proportion. I can change settings from across my living room without any issue, and it’s not like the unit has a clear line of sight. People probably just have theirs blocked by too much furniture or something metal.
22 de July de 2026 at 13:51 #5708Jen M87
MemberI just keep the remote on my desk next to me, so range has never been an issue for me personally. I guess if you wanted to control it from the other side of the room it might be a bit hit or miss depending on where you put the unit.
22 de July de 2026 at 14:27 #5712
coffeeandscreensParticipantI think it depends a bit on where you place the unit. I’ve got mine on a shelf in my office and the remote works from my bed across the room no problem, but if I move it behind my monitor or something it gets a little spotty. Not totally sure if that’s a range thing or just the angle.
22 de July de 2026 at 15:19 #5715Jess Runner
MemberI think the remote works fine as long as you’re in the same room and not blocked by furniture or something. Maybe people just overthink it a bit.
22 de July de 2026 at 16:05 #5718
Nina_gadgetMemberI’ve been eyeing this unit too and honestly I think people might be overthinking the remote thing. If you’re in the same room, it should be fine.
