Mouth taping at night worth it if I already use a humidifier?

I’ve been using a humidifier in my bedroom for a while and it helps with dry throat in the morning. But I keep seeing people talk about mouth taping for sleeping better. I’m kind of curious if adding that would actually make a difference or if it’s just extra hassle. Anyone here do both?

I’ve tried both together for a bit and honestly I’m still not totally sure if the tape adds that much when the humidifier is already doing its thing. Maybe it helps keep the moisture in better if your mouth is closed, but I kind of gave up after a few nights because it felt like extra hassle for something I wasn’t noticing a huge difference with.

I mean, if your throat already feels fine with the humidifier, I’d probably skip the tape. Seems like extra hassle for a problem you don’t really have.

I think it’s kind of a different thing though. The humidifier helps with dryness, but the tape is more about keeping your mouth shut so you nose breathe all night. I’ve done both and noticed less grogginess even though my throat was already fine.

I’ve tried both and honestly didn’t notice a huge difference from the tape. The humidifier already handles the dry throat thing for me, so the tape just felt like an extra step.

I’d say it’s not really the same thing. The humidifier handles dryness, but the tape is more about keeping your breathing pattern in check. If you’re not a mouth breather, probably not worth the hassle.

I’d probably give the tape a shot just to see if it changes anything, even if the humidifier already helps. Worst case you waste a few strips and find out it’s not for you. I travel a lot and pack both sometimes, but honestly the humidifier does most of the heavy lifting for me.

I’d say go for it just to see, the humidifier handles dryness but the tape is more about keeping your breathing steady. They tackle different things so it’s not really one or the other.

Honestly, if the humidifier is already doing the job for your throat I’d probably not bother with the tape. I tried it once and it just felt annoying to have something on my mouth all night.

I’ve been using both for a while now and I’d say they do different things. The humidifier keeps my throat from getting dry, but the tape actually helped me feel more rested in the morning. It’s not a huge difference, but I notice it.

I kind of wonder if it’s overthinking it a bit. If the humidifier already stops the dry throat, the tape seems like an extra step that might not change much for you.

I’d probably skip the tape if the humidifier is already doing what you need. Sounds like extra hassle for not much gain unless you’re trying to fix something specific.

I think it depends on what you’re hoping to fix. The humidifier handles dryness, but mouth taping is more about keeping you from breathing through your mouth in the first place. If you’re a mouth breather and want to train yourself out of it, the tape might help, but if your main issue is just a dry throat, the humidifier might already have you covered. Not totally sure it’s worth the hassle unless you’re curious enough to try it for a night.

I’d say try it for a night or two and see what happens. Worst case you rip it off after an hour.

I tried mouth taping for a few nights and honestly couldn’t tell if it was doing anything different from the humidifier alone. If your throat feels fine already, it’s probably just an extra step that doesn’t add much.

I mean, you could try it for the novelty factor I guess. But if your throat already feels fine with the humidifier, it just seems like one more thing to mess with before bed for not much payoff.

Mouth taping and a humidifier are solving two different things in my opinion. The humidifier adds moisture to the air, but the tape actually keeps your mouth shut so you breathe through your nose. I do both and notice better sleep quality with the tape even if my throat isn’t dry anymore.

I think if you’re already waking up fine just stick with the humidifier. Mouth taping sounds like a pain for something that might not add much.

I think most people here pretty much covered it. I ended up trying mouth taping for a few nights just to see and honestly it felt like overkill with the humidifier running. My throat was already fine so I just went back to the humidifier alone. No reason to make things complicated if it is not broken.
