MemberLooking at the Dustaclean for cleaning my desk and keyboard area. The brush attachment looks like it might be too wide for between keys. Has anyone tried it on a mechanical keyboard? Not sure if it’s worth getting if I still have to pull out compressed air.

Rachel ColeMemberI barely got the brush attachment between my keycaps. Ended up using the crevice nozzle more.

Ben KerrMemberThe brush is a bit bulky for tight key rows, but the crevice nozzle slides in fine. I just use that instead and it gets the crumbs out. Works well enough for me.

MemberI dunno, I think it fits fine between my keycaps. The brush is a bit stiff but it works.

Jenna LeeMemberI have a mechanical keyboard and the brush is honestly fine for getting surface dust off the keycaps, but it doesn’t really fit between the rows for me. I just shake out the big crumbs over the trash can and use the crevice nozzle for anything stuck in there. It does the job well enough that I don’t bother getting the compressed air out anymore.

MemberI’m kinda surprised anyone expected the brush to fit between keys. That thing looks more for dusting the tops of things.

Mike RunnerMemberI mean, it’s a brush. It’s not gonna wedge perfectly between every keycap if you’ve got a dense layout. Works fine for blowing dust off the top layer, but if you’re expecting it to deep clean between switches, you’re kidding yourself.

MemberI think it depends on your keyboard more than anything. Mine has fairly standard keycaps and the brush is fine for a quick surface dust, but I wouldn’t rely on it for deep cleaning the gaps.

Maria_BakesMemberI just use the crevice nozzle for between the keys and it works fine for me. The brush is more for the desk surface anyway.

MemberIād probably just end up using the crevice nozzle for between the keys and keep the brush for the desk itself. Seems like the easier way to go.

MemberThe name “Dustaclean” makes it sound like it was made for keyboards, so I get why you’d wonder. I think the brush is more for sweeping crumbs off the desk than actually jamming between keys, though.

MemberI got one mostly for the crevice nozzle, which works pretty well between key rows. The brush is whatever, I barely use it.

MemberI just use the crevice nozzle too, brush is more for the surface crumbs on my desk. It won’t get deep between keycaps but it’ll blow the loose dust off the top. Not a dealbreaker for me.

MemberAlright, thanks for the replies. Sounds like the crevice nozzle is the main thing to use between keys, which is basically what I figured. I’ll probably just keep using compressed air for the deep stuff and not overthink this.
