  • I mostly use mine at my desk so the wire thing never really mattered to me, but I did test walking around with it once just to see. It stays on fine, the strap holds it in place, and nothing about the power forces you to sit still. For me the bigger issue is I get bored wearing it, so I end up parked somewhere anyway.

My take on the listing confusion is that they just worded it badly. It’s a rechargeable mask, the cord is for juicing it back up, not for running it. I’ve had mine a few months now and I charge it maybe once a week depending on how consistent I am with sessions. Never had it die mid-use either. So if portability is what you’re after, that part works. I just personally don’t bother pacing around the house with a glowing face on.

in reply to: Vital Shoulder Massager and office wear? #11505

I wear mine mostly when I’m stuck in long calls or reading, not actively typing. It’s noticeable but nobody at my office has said anything. After a couple weeks it just became part of the desk setup.

Works from a bucket, no priming needed.

in reply to: BareEarth Grounding Mat placement under a desk? #11049

The cord was my main issue too. I ended up running it along the back edge of the desk and taping it down so my feet don’t catch it. Socks on is fine, never noticed a difference either way.

in reply to: Does the Qinux Gravizer need any setup before first use? #11017

Mine came ready to use, but I still had to figure out the right amount of pressure before the lines stopped looking shaky. The tips were already in place, so there wasn’t any assembly or setup beyond charging it. That part really is as simple as it sounds.

What surprised me was how much the learning curve depended on the material. I started on a piece of scrap pine, and the pen wanted to wander a bit until I got used to letting the tool do the work instead of pushing it. On leather it behaved differently again. Same pen, same tip, but the speed I moved my hand made a bigger difference than I expected. My first few attempts looked pretty rough. By maybe the fourth or fifth try on scrap, the lines were starting to look intentional.

So setup is basically nothing. The practice part is real, just not in a way that requires reading instructions or watching videos. Grab some offcuts and mess around for half an hour before touching anything you actually care about. That’s what worked for me.

in reply to: Does MixMate work for matcha or just coffee? #10862

I mostly use mine for greens powder and it handles that without much fuss. Matcha isn’t something I’d expect a stirrer to fully fix though, since the clumping usually comes down to how you whisk it.

in reply to: Tagsley in a wallet with other cards? #10829

I keep mine in the card slot behind my ID and it reads fine every time I’ve used it. My preference is a slim front pocket wallet anyway, so the thickness matters more to me than signal. It added a little bulk at first, but I stopped noticing after a week.

in reply to: Flixy stick and 5GHz wifi, does it matter? #10751

Just check if it’s on 2.4 in the settings.

in reply to: Does Guardality work if I keep it in my back pocket? #10508

Mine lives in my back pocket with my wallet and it’s been working for about a year. No bending issues either. The card’s thin enough that I forget it’s there.

in reply to: Ryoko Pro coverage in rural areas, actually usable? #10142

Used mine near a national forest last fall, phone was showing no service at all. The Ryoko pulled enough signal to send a few texts and check email, but it was slow and dropped a couple times. Fine for basic stuff, useless if you need anything heavy. It won’t fix truly dead zones though.

in reply to: Does the WellHeater need to be plugged directly into the wall? #9861

Mine’s been on a decent surge protector for over a year now with zero problems.

in reply to: Qinux ScryneX vs. my old pull-down screen for daytime use? #9667

I wouldn’t overthink the gray tint thing. Those screens do help a bit with ambient light, but once you actually start using the ScryneX you realize the material is doing more work than a plain white sheet would. It’s got some structure to it, not just flimsy fabric.

I run mine in a room with a big sliding door that gets direct afternoon sun. I close the curtains halfway and it’s perfectly watchable. Not pitch black cinema level, but you’re not squinting or losing the whole image either. Colors stay decent and I don’t get that washed out look I expected.

The portability is the bigger win for me though. I hung mine on a couple of hooks and take it down when I don’t need it. No more dragging a heavy case out of storage. For the daytime question, I’d say it holds up fine unless you’ve got sunlight beaming straight onto the screen. Curtains or blinds will do the rest.

in reply to: Does Qinux AquaSylk remove the chlorine smell or just reduce it? #9611

I’d say it takes the edge off pretty well, but your water’s freshness matters. In my area the smell is seasonal, and during the worst weeks I can still catch a faint whiff in the first few seconds. After that it’s basically gone for the rest of the shower.

in reply to: Is the Qinux BlastVul easy to carry around or is it bulky? #9592

I’d grab it by the handle and move the hose along with it, no problem.

I would not buy it expecting it to feel perfect right away. Memory foam almost always has some adjustment period, even if it is short. If you are someone who notices firmness, give it a solid two weeks before you make up your mind. If it still feels off after that, then it probably is not for you.

in reply to: Glacier Breeze placement on a desk, does it matter? #8898

Mine is on a shelf above my monitor, pointing down at an angle. Took a couple days to find a position that didn’t feel like it was either blasting me in the eyes or just moving air around the room without actually cooling anything. The spot it’s in now is maybe two feet away and slightly above head level. I feel it on my arms and chest more than my face, which honestly works better for me.

I think people expect it to work like a desk fan where you can feel it from across the desk. It’s really more of a close range thing. Once you get past that two to three foot zone it’s basically just a humidifier with a weak breeze attached. Keep it within arm’s reach and you’ll be fine.

in reply to: Coolizi Coolzy noise level in heating mode? #8352

Good to know it’s not just me hearing that hum. Thanks for the input.

in reply to: SpyFocus app live view vs older cam, any delay? #8272

The delay on these things usually comes down to how the app processes the stream, not just the camera itself. I’ve messed around with a couple of different mini cams and the app makes a big difference. SpyFocus seems to handle the buffering better than the older ones I’ve tried, but I’m also on pretty solid Wi-Fi at home. If your connection is weak or the router is far from the camera, you’ll still see lag no matter what app you’re using. It’s not magic. I’d say the delay is there if you’re looking for it, but for just glancing at a room it’s fine. Probably not worth switching if you’re only annoyed by a few seconds, but it is noticeably smoother in my experience.

in reply to: Qinux Vibrathea battery life after a few months? #8220

It is normal. Lithium batteries start losing capacity right away, even if it’s slow at first. If you’re getting a few sessions per charge after a couple months, that tracks with how these things usually behave. I wouldn’t expect it to stay exactly like day one.

in reply to: Does the Nunawave Oral Care Pro feel bulky in your mouth? #8077

I wear mine a few times a week and I wouldn’t call it bulky, but it’s definitely present. My mouth isn’t huge and it took a couple of sessions to get used to the feel. It’s not uncomfortable enough to stop using, but I wouldn’t fall asleep with it in.

Mine shifts a bit when I move too, but it settles back once I’m still.

in reply to: Does the Qinux WarmPro make the room feel stuffy after a while? #7506

I never get that heavy feeling with mine. I use it in the living room while watching TV for hours and the air stays fine. Maybe it’s more noticeable in a smaller room like a bedroom. I do prefer having it on a lower setting if I’m going to leave it running for a while.

in reply to: Does the Keilini Heater Pro trip breakers often? #7381

I’ve had mine plugged in daily for about two months now and it’s never once tripped anything. If your breaker is popping, I’d look at what else is on that circuit before blaming the heater. Old wiring can be finicky with any load.

in reply to: Pro Capture waterproof case: does it fog up for anyone else? #7302

I’ve had mine fog up maybe twice out of maybe a dozen trips. Both times it was when I went from sitting in a hot car straight into the water. The case itself was fine, but the lens had a thin mist on it for the first few minutes.

The weird part is that it cleared up on its own once the water temp evened things out. I never bothered doing anything about it, just let it sit for a bit and it sorted itself out. I don’t use any of those anti-fog pads or rice tricks or whatever people suggest.

One thing I noticed is that it seems worse if you open the case right before you go in. If I seal it up in the shade or inside before heading out, it stays clear. If I’m messing with the camera on the beach in the sun and then snap it shut, that’s when I get fog. Not every time, but enough that I noticed the pattern.

I think some people just have worse luck with it depending on where they are. Humid coastal spots probably make it more likely. I wouldn’t say it’s a defect or anything, just something that happens with waterproof housings in general.

in reply to: Does the Melara Air sit too high for stomach sleepers? #7219

I slept on mine for about a month before I gave up on it. I’m also a stomach sleeper and the loft never really settled in for me. It wasn’t terrible, but I kept waking up with my neck at a weird angle, like the pillow was doing its own thing while I was trying to do mine.

I think the shape just doesn’t match how I move around. I don’t stay perfectly flat, I turn my head to the side, and the cutouts never lined up with where I actually needed them. My old cheap pillow is flatter and I don’t think about it at all.

The Melara is fine for my wife, she’s a side sleeper and it works for her. So it’s not a bad pillow, just not for me. I’d say if it still feels off after a few more nights, it probably won’t get better.

Mine will do that if I don’t have the app fully closed from the last time. If it’s been sitting in the background for a while it seems to lose track of the buds, but if I swipe it away and reopen it, they show up right away. I’ve just gotten into the habit of closing it out first.
