I keep ANC off most of the time since my place is pretty quiet anyway, and I got a bit over 40 hours before the case needed a charge. Not quite the 50 they advertise but close enough that I stopped counting.
I’d probably still keep a couple sprays for emergencies, but I’d try the steam first for most everyday stuff around the house. Half the reason I want one is to stop buying so many bottles, so I’d rather test it and see where it falls short than keep guessing. Still curious how it does on soap scum though.
I’ve had mine about six weeks and it’s wireless during the session, but the control piece does need charging fairly often. I usually plug it in the night before and then wear the mask while folding laundry or whatever. It stays put fine as long as I don’t bend over too fast.
I’d push back on the whole “it won’t work outside big cities” thing. Mine picked up a local carrier on its own in Laos and I never touched any settings, just turned it on after landing and my phone found the hotspot. The speed wasn’t amazing but it was usable for maps and messages. That was a smaller place than I expected it to handle.
Mine actually didn’t stay put that well on a smooth desk. The airflow on mine seemed to nudge it around a little over time, especially on the higher setting, so I ended up sticking it on a shelf with a lip instead. Not a huge deal, but I wouldn’t assume it just plants itself wherever you put it. It still blew air fine though, that part wasn’t the issue.
I keep mine in a little sleeve with the volume rocker exposed, so I can just press and hold it down with my thumb through the fabric. Takes a second and I don’t have to open anything. That’s usually enough for me on a quiet bus.
Mine actually surprised me the other way. I left the remote on my nightstand and it still worked from the bathroom across the hall, door mostly shut. So it might just vary unit to unit.
I’m not convinced it’s fully free forever. A friend let me try hers on a trip and the basic translation was fine, but a couple of the nicer modes wanted an account upgrade. Maybe that’s just newer units though.
I’d just get the sizing kit and go with whichever finger feels right for you instead of trying to pick the “correct” one in advance. That’s what I did when I was looking at it, and it took a lot of the second-guessing out of the whole thing.
For me the deciding factor was comfort overnight, not accuracy charts or anything like that. I sleep with my hands kind of tucked under my pillow, and certain fingers just felt annoying after a couple hours. My index finger ended up being the one I could basically forget about, so that’s where I’d wear it. If I were you I’d wear the sizer for a full day and a night before committing, because the finger that feels fine while you’re just sitting around isn’t always the one that’s still fine at 3am.
Switching hands is something I’d only do if the fit on my usual hand stopped working, like if my fingers changed size or the ring started spinning around. Otherwise I’d pick one spot and stay there just so I’m not comparing readings from two different fingers and confusing myself. I don’t think there’s a magic finger that gives you better numbers, it’s more about consistent contact.
I’m still deciding whether to actually buy the P1 myself, mostly because I keep going back and forth on whether I’d really wear a ring every day. But the finger question stopped being a worry once I tried the sizer.
I don’t think that’s just how small cameras work. Mine handles shade under trees way better than my old phone did, so maybe check if there’s an exposure or HDR setting buried in the menu. Worth a peek before you assume it’s normal.
5GHz made a real difference for mine. The Flixy was fine on the old band, then I moved it over and the little stutters basically stopped. I’d say it’s worth poking around your router if the stick is sitting close enough to get a decent signal.

The 8 hour thing I always figured was with a full tank and the lowest fan speed anyway. I’d say if you’re using it while you’re at your desk and you can just add water when you notice it’s low, it’s not a big deal. I actually kind of prefer not filling it to the top because I tend to knock things over and the lighter it is, the less likely I am to spill it everywhere. Only time I notice a difference is if I forget to refill it completely and it runs out in the middle of the night, but that’s on me.
Mine sat on a thick bedroom rug all last summer and I never noticed any difference in how it cooled. I only moved it because I rearranged the room, not because of performance issues. As long as it’s not sinking into super plush carpet, I think you’re fine to just plug it in and go.
I’d probably just wipe it down and leave it somewhere dry for a day before charging it. I’ve seen enough electronics die from being charged while still damp inside, so that would be my main concern more than the actual drop. Grass is pretty forgiving compared to concrete.
I’d say no, it doesn’t need a dark room to work, but I wouldn’t run it right next to a bright window either. I use mine with the curtains half closed during the day and it still seems to do its thing. I don’t think normal indoor lighting is going to stop the UV, but direct sunlight probably isn’t helping it any.
I gave mine a go on a wooden garden table that has some kind of tinted sealant on it, not paint, and it was completely fine. I did keep the nozzle moving and didn’t linger in one spot too long, but there was no visible damage or weird water marks left behind. I’d say as long as you’re not holding it inches away and cranking the pressure, wood should be okay.
I’d probably skip using mine for fireplace ash unless I had no other option. Not because it can’t pick it up, but because the filter gets that gray haze pretty fast and then it’s all you smell for a while. I learned that the hard way after cleaning a candle wax disaster and thinking ash would be similar. It’s not.
If you do try it, I’d tap out the filter right after and maybe do a quick blow through it before you put it away. Otherwise the next time you grab it for crumbs or pet hair, you’ll get a little ash cloud puffing back out. That part is annoying.
For occasional ash cleanup it’s fine, but if it’s a weekly thing you might end up replacing filters more often than you’d like. I’d keep a dedicated shop vac or just a dustpan for the fireplace and use the Dustaclean for the stuff that’s less messy.
I’m a side sleeper and I’ve had mine for a few months now. It stays put once you get the mold right, I’ve never woken up to find it missing. The first couple nights felt a little weird but now I don’t even notice it.
I’d just put it on a case, honestly. I’ve got one on my kids’ tablet and it’s on a thick silicone case, no issues with it peeling or anything. The sticker itself is small enough that it doesn’t really stand out, even on a bigger device.
I actually think you’re overcomplicating it a bit. Tap water is fine. The UV thing is mostly about keeping the bottle itself from getting gross and killing whatever bacteria might be in there, not turning bad water into fancy filtered water. If your tap water is drinkable, you’re good to go.

I’ve actually had the opposite experience with mine. I keep it on a rug in my bedroom most of the time and it’s been super consistent for me. I’ve checked it against the tile in the hallway a few times just out of curiosity and honestly the numbers were basically the same, within like half a pound maybe. The body fat readings were also consistent enough that I didn’t see any big jumps.
I feel like the bigger issue for me is whether I’ve had enough water that day or if I weighed in right after a workout. Those things seem to mess with the numbers way more than the floor does. Maybe my rug is just really thin and firm, but I wouldn’t blame the surface too fast. I’d say just pick one spot and stick with it for a few days and see if it settles down.
