Quick question about the Qinux BittOne. I usually play on the bus and sometimes I want to mute the sound without messing with a menu. Is there a dedicated mute button or a volume wheel that goes all the way down? I know it has physical buttons but I can’t tell from pictures. Not a dealbreaker, just curious.

I don’t think there’s a dedicated mute button on it. The volume buttons go down pretty far but I’m not sure they hit actual zero. I just use the pause button if I need it quiet fast.

I’d just hold the volume down before launching a game, that’s usually enough for me. If it doesn’t hit zero, I’d use headphones and leave one earbud out. Not ideal, but it gets the job done on a bus.

I keep mine in a little sleeve with the volume rocker exposed, so I can just press and hold it down with my thumb through the fabric. Takes a second and I don’t have to open anything. That’s usually enough for me on a quiet bus.

There’s no dedicated mute button on mine.

Mine doesn’t have a mute button either, but the volume buttons do drop to zero if you keep tapping. I checked with a game running and it went fully silent, so that works fine for the bus.

I’ve had mine for a few months and the volume buttons do the job fine for me. I usually just tap the down one a couple times before a game starts and it gets quiet enough that nobody on the bus gives me looks. No dedicated mute button that I’ve found, but honestly the rocker alone has been enough.

Mine only goes quiet if I pause the game first.

The volume wheel going to zero does the trick for me.

I didn’t even realize people were looking for a mute button, I just turn mine off with the power switch if I need quiet. Probably not the intended way but it works.

No mute button on mine. Annoying, honestly.

I keep a pair of earbuds in my bag for bus rides, so muting has never really come up for me. The buttons being right on the front is handy enough that I’d probably just tap away if I needed quiet though.

I keep seeing people say the volume controls handle this, but that hasn’t matched my experience at all. On mine, tapping the volume down button stops around the second or third step and then just sits there. It never actually reaches silence no matter how many times I press it. I’ve tried holding it down too and nothing changes. So for me there’s no real mute option through the buttons, and I don’t see any dedicated mute switch anywhere on the casing either. Maybe there’s a setting buried somewhere I haven’t found, but out of the box it just doesn’t go quiet. I usually end up just pulling my headphones out of the jack when I need it silent, which is a bit clunky but gets the job done. Curious if anyone else has run into the volume floor thing or if it’s just my unit.

There’s no dedicated mute button on the BittOne, and I don’t get why anyone expects one on a budget handheld. I’ve had mine a few months and just hold the volume down button, works fine every time.

Not sure a mute button is really a thing on these little handhelds in general, at least I’ve never run into one. I’d rather have a quick way to kill sound than fiddling with menus on a bus, so I get the question. If the volume bottoms out to actual silence then that’s basically your mute anyway.

Probably just the volume buttons on mine.

I poke at the volume buttons when I need quiet, but I have definitely tapped down and still heard a faint bit of sound, so it isn’t a true mute. If you need silence right away on a bus, that could get annoying.
