I keep seeing that the Qinux Vapoxis is supposed to replace most cleaning sprays since it just uses steam. I’m not fully convinced that steam alone works as well as a regular product, especially on greasy kitchen stuff. Has anyone actually stopped buying their usual cleaners after getting one? Or do you still keep the sprays around for certain messes?

Steam gets most of my stovetop messes without any spray, but for baked on grease I still grab the oven cleaner. I haven’t fully stopped buying the usual stuff, just cut back a lot.

I still buy glass cleaner because I don’t like the streaks I get on windows with steam alone. Everything else in my cabinet is basically gone though. So yeah, it cut down most of my chemical use, just not all of it.

I never fully dropped my regular cleaners. Steam handles daily wipe downs fine but I still keep a degreaser for the tough stuff, and honestly I don’t think that’s a big deal. The whole point is using less, not zero.

I mainly use mine on the bathroom and the kitchen sink area, and I have cut way back on buying the usual bathroom spray. The steam does a good job on soap scum and everyday grime, and I like not having the smell of cleaners hanging around after. But I never expected it to fully replace everything. I still keep one all purpose spray under the sink because sometimes I just want to wipe something fast without plugging anything in and waiting for it to heat up. It’s more about using fewer products overall than going completely chemical free for me. The cord is the part that bugs me most, since I’m usually moving between rooms, but that’s just how it is with these. I didn’t stop buying cleaners completely, but I buy a lot less than I used to.

I still keep one all purpose spray under the sink mostly out of habit. Steam does a lot, but my thing is I don’t like dragging the cord out for tiny jobs. If there’s a quick spill or a couple of fingerprints on the counter, grabbing a spray and a rag takes ten seconds. The Vapoxis only comes out when I’m actually planning to clean, not for random little messes. That’s the main reason I haven’t cleared out the cabinet. It’s not that the steam doesn’t work, it’s more about how I clean day to day. For bigger jobs I barely touch the sprays now though. So I’d say it depends on whether you’re a quick wipe person or a set aside time to clean person.

I’d probably still keep a couple sprays for emergencies, but I’d try the steam first for most everyday stuff around the house. Half the reason I want one is to stop buying so many bottles, so I’d rather test it and see where it falls short than keep guessing. Still curious how it does on soap scum though.

I stopped buying my usual glass and counter spray after about a month with mine. That was the surprise for me, since I figured I would still reach for the bottle out of habit. I use it on the stove hood and the microwave pretty often and the steam lifts that thin greasy film fine, then I just wipe it with a cloth. What actually changed my mind was how much less I cough when I clean now. The sprays always got to me after a while. I still grab a bottle for the really baked on stuff at the bottom of the oven, but that is maybe twice a year. For everyday kitchen mess it has replaced most of what I used to buy, and I did not expect that at all.

Doubt it replaces much of anything. Steam loosens surface gunk, sure, but the second something is actually greasy you’re back to a real cleaner anyway. So you’re not cutting chemicals, you’re just adding another gadget to the cupboard.

I still buy one all purpose spray and that’s mostly a personal preference thing. I like having something I can grab and squirt without dragging out the cord and waiting for it to heat up. For quick little wipe downs it’s just faster for me. That said, I use the steamer way more than I expected when I first got it. It’s my go to for the bathroom and for the stovetop after cooking. I haven’t bought a separate bathroom cleaner in maybe four months now, which I didn’t see coming. So I guess my honest answer is it cut down my chemical use a lot but didn’t wipe it out completely, and the stuff I still keep around is more about convenience than the steam not working. If you’re someone who hates clutter and wants one thing for everything, you might feel differently than I do.

I actually buy more spray now than before, not less. The steam is great for grout and tile, but I found myself going through more kitchen spray because I still use it after steaming greasy stuff.
