First night I barely slept with the thing in my mouth, so I wouldn’t call that a win. Took a few tries before I stopped waking up feeling like my jaw was in a weird position, but now it’s fine.
Honestly, I think people overthink this stuff. I just plugged mine in, set it on a bookshelf across the room from the window, and it pulls in every channel I care about. Unless you live in a dead zone, I doubt wall mounting is gonna change much.
I mean, I think it’s partly just how evaporative coolers work, you know? On a super humid day you’re basically just adding more moisture to already wet air, so the cooling effect probably drops off. I’m not totally sure either though, I’ve only used mine a handful of times.
I mean, you’re basically just trying to see if a dog is on a couch, not reading license plates. It’ll do that.
I get why that seems low for a 3000 mAh battery, but honestly, if the repellent is working hard the whole time, twelve hours still feels decent for a weekend trip. I wouldn’t mind that trade-off if it keeps the bugs away.
I figure as long as you’re not pointing the thing directly at the shower stream it’s probably fine. These little heaters are pretty basic, they just blow hot air around not like they’re gonna explode from a bit of steam.
Honestly, even with soft water you’re still getting chlorine out, and that alone made a difference for my skin. I’d keep it.
I mean, I’d just get it and try it out. If it’s too loud for you, you can always move it to another room.

Honestly I was kinda looking at the Epicooler myself but my place is drafty too so this thread is helping me decide. I wonder if blocking off the worst cracks around windows or doors would make enough of a difference for it to feel less like a losing battle.

I’d still try it on the bed first if you already have one. The heat and vibration part works fine on softer surfaces, it’s really just the stretch that might feel a bit less intense. I think you’d probably still get something out of it unless your mattress is super saggy.
I’d guess any Qi pad works. I’ve used mine on a couple of different cheap ones and it’s been fine. Not totally sure about the really old ones though.

Eh, I wouldn’t overthink it too much. I tried one with a medium-fine grind and it worked fine for me, didn’t clog or anything. Maybe just don’t go as fine as you would for espresso and you’ll probably be okay. I’m not convinced these things are that picky.
Huh, I was actually thinking about getting one of these for travel. I kinda figured the USB-A port would just be a bonus port for slower stuff while the real speed is on the USB-C side. Probably not a huge deal if your main use is the laptop charging.
I get what you mean, it does sound like they want you to fill the whole house. But honestly, I just put one in the hallway outside the bedrooms and called it a day. Never had a problem with it, and my place isn’t that big anyway.
Honestly I got one for my own nails and they’re not super thick so it works fine. But I tried it on my dad’s toenails once and it just kinda buzzed there without doing much. Probably better for regular upkeep if you ask me.
The built-in cable is a game changer for me, I keep losing those tiny charging cords in my bag. I’ve been eyeing this one for a while, how’s the heat when it’s charging your phone? My current one gets warm enough to make me nervous.

Thanks for the input, folks. I think I’ll tolerate the humming for a few weeks and avoid long highway runs if I can, not totally sure but it doesn’t feel dangerous right now. I’ll get a tire check and swap them when I have the cash.
One tiny thing to watch is how easy it is to grab in the dark or with gloves on, super-slim smooth lights can be awkward when you’re in a hurry. A bit of texture or a small clip makes them way less fiddly.
Works fine for me, I barely notice any slowdown. One small thing you can do is drop the camera’s resolution or frame rate in the app and keep motion-only uploads so alerts still work but it won’t chew bandwidth all day.
Maybe bring the tiny FM if it’s light, I think packing a spare set of batteries is a small practical thing to remember.
