Quick question about the MozzDefense – I know it says USB-C charging, but does it work with any random USB-C cable or does it need the one in the box? I tend to lose cables all the time, so I’m hoping I can just use one of my phone chargers when I’m traveling.

Honestly, any USB-C cable should work fine. I’ve used random ones from old phones and stuff without any issues. It’s a pretty standard port, so I wouldn’t stress about keeping track of the one it came with.

I feel like any USB-C cable works here, but I do wonder if the slower ones just take a bit longer to get it full. I have a habit of grabbing whatever is next to my couch and it seems to top up fine, just not super fast. Probably not a big deal unless you are in a hurry.

I’d imagine any standard USB-C cable works, not just the one it comes with. That’s usually how these things go. I’d just make sure the cable isn’t super old or damaged, but other than that you’re probably fine to use whatever you have on hand.

Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it. USB-C is pretty much USB-C at this point. I’ve charged mine with the cable from my e-reader and also with a random one I had in my car, and it was fine both times. I think as long as it’s not some super cheap gas station cable, you’re good. It just takes a couple hours to fill up anyway, so even if it charges a bit slower with a different cable, you’ll barely notice. I wouldn’t go out and buy a special one just for this. I’d just grab whatever’s lying around. It’s not like these little gadgets have some secret charging requirement. You’re overthinking it, just plug it in and see.

USB-C is USB-C. If it fits and the charger actually outputs something, it’ll charge. I’ve used the cable from my headphones and an old phone charger on mine, no problem. The included cable is probably just a cheap basic one anyway, so losing it isn’t a big deal.

You’re probably overthinking it. I’ve swapped cables around with mine a bunch and never had an issue. If it fits and isn’t some super cheap broken wire, it’ll charge. Maybe not as fast as the included one, but it’ll get there.

Can’t imagine it being that picky about cables honestly. I’ve charged plenty of gadgets with whatever USB-C cord happens to be in my bag and never had a problem. Worst case you just leave it charging a bit longer if the cable isn’t great.

I would not assume that just because it has a USB-C port it will work with every charger you own. Some devices are picky about the cable or the power output, especially if you grab one of those really thin charging cords that only do data. I have had gadgets that refuse to charge unless I use a specific cable, so I would just keep the one it comes with in your travel bag.

Pretty sure you’re fine using whatever USB-C cable you have around. These things all use the same basic charging standard, so unless the cable is completely busted it’ll charge. I’ve used random phone cables for plenty of similar gadgets and never had an issue.
