Just got the WaveMax. Does it actually make a difference if you mount it high up near the ceiling, or is sitting on a table fine? I’d rather not mess with taping it to the wall if it doesn’t matter.

I put mine on a bookshelf about halfway up the wall and it works fine for me. I think the height matters a little, but you don’t have to go all the way to the ceiling.

I just stuck mine on a shelf near a window and it picks up channels fine. Not totally sure if the height makes a huge difference unless you’re in a weird spot. Probably depends on your house more than anything.

People get pretty hung up on perfect placement, but I think you’re overthinking it. I tossed mine on a random end table in a hotel room once and still got the local channels fine. Moving it higher might help in a tricky spot, but it is not like the thing stops working if it is not glued to the ceiling.

Honestly, I’d just set it on the table and see if it works first. I tried mounting mine high up and didn’t notice enough difference to bother with the wall again.

I think people way overthink where to stick these things. I just put mine behind a bookshelf and it works fine for the local channels I actually watch. Try the table first and if it’s garbage, move it. Not that deep.

I think a lot of it depends on your house and where the towers are. I tried mine in a few different spots and it honestly worked the same most of the time. Probably not worth stressing over unless you’re in a really tricky area.

It’s a TV antenna, not rocket science. I threw mine on a shelf behind a lamp and it pulls in everything I need without any fuss. Wall mounting seems like extra work for no real gain unless you live in a dead zone.

I think it depends on where your closest broadcast towers are. I tried mine low first and got nothing, moved it up near the ceiling and it worked perfectly. If you don’t want to mess with the wall, try a few spots on the table first.

Mounting it high up is more effort than it needs to be. I have mine sitting on a low cabinet and it works fine. Unless your signal is awful, a table should do the job.
