It’s a USB charge, so it’s not like a filter that needs prepping. Just give it a quick top-up while you unpack, and you’re good.

I wear mine with regular khakis and it doesn’t add any weird bulk. The fabric is thin enough that it just feels like a snug layer under my pants, not like I’ve got some clunky brace on. I do a lot of walking around stores and it never shifts or bunches up on me.

It’s pretty normal for any heater to dry things out a bit. I’ve had mine going in the living room most evenings and I do notice it after a while, but it’s not something that bothers me too much. A glass of water nearby usually does the trick for me.

I’d probably just close the door and run it. You’re not gonna get any kind of leak through a wall, and the remote is there so you don’t have to hover around. I’d trust the timer more than anything else. It’s not like it’s a radiation machine.

It’s probably just the heating element burning off dust that settled inside. Mine did that the first couple times too and then it stopped. Give it another few runs before worrying about it.

I think it’ll probably be fine. I’ve had mine inside a pretty thick card slot and it still showed up on Find My without issues. The signal seems to push through most things that aren’t solid metal.

in reply to: Mouth taping at night worth it if I already use a humidifier? #5266

I think it depends on what you’re hoping to fix. The humidifier handles dryness, but mouth taping is more about keeping you from breathing through your mouth in the first place. If you’re a mouth breather and want to train yourself out of it, the tape might help, but if your main issue is just a dry throat, the humidifier might already have you covered. Not totally sure it’s worth the hassle unless you’re curious enough to try it for a night.

Good to know, thanks for the replies. I’ve just been running mine on low with oscillation on and it’s been fine for my desk, so I’m not gonna overthink it.

I just use the crevice nozzle too, brush is more for the surface crumbs on my desk. It won’t get deep between keycaps but it’ll blow the loose dust off the top. Not a dealbreaker for me.

I’ve got mine in a spot that’s pretty shaded for most of the afternoon and it’s been fine so far. Battery hasn’t given me any trouble, and I haven’t had to plug it in once.

I’d just leave it running if I were you. For what it does, the power draw is pretty tiny. I wouldn’t worry about the bill unless you’re also running a bunch of other stuff at the same time.

Honestly it’s not much work at all. The outside wipes down like any other showerhead and the filter being inside means you don’t have to deal with it until it’s time to swap it out. I’d say it’s less hassle than cleaning mineral deposits off a regular head.
