I’ve been looking at the LumaGlasses for a while now, mostly for travel and walking around town. One thing I keep wondering about is how they perform outside when it’s really sunny. Like, does the open-ear audio still work okay if there’s wind or traffic noise? Also, are the lenses dark enough to wear as sunglasses, or is it more of a clear lens situation? I know they have UV protection and anti blue-light, but I’m not sure if that means they’re tinted or not.

Mine work fine in bright sun, audio is still clear enough for calls and navigation. Lenses are clear though, not tinted like sunglasses.

I’ve worn mine on a few really bright days and didn’t have trouble hearing calls or podcasts over wind. Sound quality drops a bit in heavy traffic but still usable. The lenses are definitely clear, not tinted, so you’ll still need proper sunglasses for glare. I don’t mind it much since I usually clip them onto my actual shades.

Lenses are clear, so don’t count on them for sunglasses. Audio holds up fine for me in most outdoor situations, wind isn’t a big deal unless it’s really strong. Traffic noise will mess with it more than wind. I’d probably just grab a cheap pair of regular shades if I needed both.

I keep going back and forth on these. The clear lens thing is kind of a bummer for sunny days, but I guess you can just wear them under normal sunglasses or swap them out. Curious if the audio is clear enough for walking through a busy market or if you end up missing half of what’s being said.

I’ve had mine out in pretty bright sun a few times and honestly the audio was fine. The lenses are clear though, so they’re not replacing my sunglasses.

Honestly the whole sunlight thing feels like a non-issue unless you were expecting them to do double duty as shades.

Thanks everyone for the input, that pretty much clears it up for me. Sounds like I’ll just need to keep my normal sunglasses handy and not worry too much about the audio unless I’m standing next to a busy road. Appreciate the help!

I have a pair and I wear them a lot when I’m out running errands or just walking around. The lenses are definitely clear, so I always keep my regular sunglasses in my bag for the really bright days. I’ve worn them on some pretty windy days near the water and the audio holds up better than I expected. The traffic thing is a bit different, if you’re standing right next to a busy road you’ll hear it, but I don’t think any open ear audio is going to beat that. For normal walking around town with the usual city noise, I can still hear my music and podcasts fine. I’ve had mine for a few months now and the sound quality has been consistent for me.
