Lag is mostly down to your wifi and how far the camera is from the router. I tested mine in two different rooms and the delay changed noticeably. The app itself seems snappy, but if your signal is weak, you’re going to see that old familiar delay. It’s not magic, it’s just a camera on your network.
Swimming laps is a completely different thing than just getting splashed or showering with it. I’ve worn mine in the pool for actual workouts, not just floating around, and it’s tracked everything without a hiccup. No sensor issues, no fogging, nothing. I get that the marketing numbers sound too good, but mine has held up to regular use in the water for months now.
Haven’t had that problem with mine. I run it in my office for hours at a time and the air stays fine. Could just be your bedroom is smaller and the heat builds up more.
Height does matter, but probably not the way you’re thinking. I’ve seen people treat these plug-in units like the old smoke detectors where you need it up near the ceiling. That’s not really how it works here. Carbon monoxide mixes with air pretty evenly, so being counter height vs. near the ceiling isn’t going to make or break it. Natural gas and propane are the ones that care about height since they settle or rise differently, but if you’re plugging it in near a gas stove, you’re probably fine either way.
The bigger issue is not blocking it. If you shove it behind a coffee maker or a stack of paper towels, it’s useless. Give it a clear outlet where air can actually reach it. Also, don’t put it right next to a vent or an open window, that just blows fresh air past it and it’ll read lower than it should. I’d say plug it in at counter height, keep it clear, and call it done. People overthink placement on these things.
I only skimmed the replies, but from what I can tell it sounds like the usual heater thing. I wouldn’t overthink it. If it’s bothering you, a glass of water helps.
The whole point of the remote is so you don’t have to stand there while it runs, so you’re overthinking the mechanics of it. UV-C doesn’t go through drywall. If it did, everyone’s skin would be fried every time a neighbor ran one of these things. It’s line of sight, basically. The door being closed is enough.
My only thing is, make sure the room is actually empty before you hit the button. It’s easy to forget the cat snuck in there or something. I usually do a quick glance under the bed and in the closet before I shut the door. It takes two seconds and saves you a trip to the vet. Once you get that routine down, it’s pretty much set it and forget it. I wouldn’t stress about the leakage part. That’s not how this works.
That’s just how it goes with these digital units. The IR eats power no matter what setting you pick.
Pretty sure they come with a few sizes in the box. I think mine had three pairs. Ive got average ears so the medium ones worked fine, but for small ears you might end up swapping them around a bit. Not a big deal really.
Tried the live preview once on mine. It worked but the connection dropped a couple times, so I wouldn’t rely on it for anything important. Mostly just use it to check if the camera is actually recording underwater.
I dunno, maybe I’m not paying enough attention but I barely notice the heat either. The traction part actually does something for my back though, so I don’t really care if the heat is weak.
Not sure why everyone’s overthinking it. Timer goes from 1 to 12 in full hours, so 2 is fine. Works like you’d expect.
I feel like people overthink the draft thing. It’s a spot heater, not a HVAC system. If you sit near it, it’ll keep you warm even if the room has a leaky window.
Converter box should handle it. That’s literally what those things are for. I’d be more worried about the WaveMax’s range claims than the TV compatibility.
Depends how deep your seats are. If the hair is just sitting on top, it’ll grab it. If it’s ground in there from weeks of driving, that brush attachment isn’t going to dig it out.
6 weeks seems like a money grab to me. I let mine go until the fur actually bugs me or him, which is usually closer to 10 or 11 weeks too.
I gave it a shot on my windshield once and wasn’t really impressed. Maybe I just didn’t care enough to notice a difference.
I don’t get why people keep calling the global roaming overkill. It’s still a solid portable router even if you never leave your city. The data saver mode cuts down on usage anywhere, not just abroad, and the battery life alone makes it worth grabbing for coffee shop work or whatever.
Pretty sure it’ll show you if the dog is on the couch. Mine picks up shapes and movement fine across a normal living room, but don’t expect to see what color the dog is.
Access point mode doesn’t care what brand your router is, so you’re fine. I’ve used TP-Link extenders with Asus and Netgear gear before without any issues. Just plug it in and it works.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Default settings cover basic office work just fine, and bluetooth pairing is straightforward. Only thing you really lose is the side button shortcuts, but if you don’t need those it’s basically plug and play.
I’ve got one and honestly the angle guide is fine if you just take your time with it. It’s not gonna hold itself perfectly if you’re rushing or forcing the file, but that’s on you, not the tool. For basic touch ups between proper sharpenings it does what it needs to.
Offline mode is fine for basic stuff but don’t expect it to handle a noisy airport bar or anything. I’d rather just use my phone’s data if I’m honest.
I haven’t bothered checking the file properties on mine, but it’s smooth enough for quick clips around the yard. If it’s not true 60fps, I can’t really tell the difference in good light anyway.
The lenses are clear, so you’ll still need sunglasses. The audio cuts through wind fine for me, but traffic noise will drown it out if you’re near a busy road. Not a dealbreaker if you’re just walking around town, though.
I think people worry too much about the pause. If you’re doing short business check-ins it’s not really an issue.
