MemberI got the Qinux Pixgo 4K for snorkeling trips but haven’t tested the Wi-Fi app yet. Does it actually show a live view on your phone or is it just for transferring files later? I don’t want to mess with the app if it’s laggy or useless.

MemberIt worked well enough for me to frame shots on my phone but the lag makes it useless if you’re trying to follow fast moving fish or something. I just set the angle, hit record, and forget about the app. Fine for stills though.

Matt__MemberI think it works fine for a quick check on the framing before you start recording. If you just need to see what the camera sees to set up a shot, the live preview does the job. I wouldn’t rely on it for anything fast moving though, just use it to make sure you’re pointed in the right direction.

Ryan__TMemberI mean, mine works for a quick look but I wouldn’t rely on it for real time stuff.

MemberI’ve used the live preview on mine a few times and honestly it worked fine for me. Not sure what lag people are talking about, maybe it depends on your phone or signal. I just wanted to see the frame before hitting record and it did that without issue.

MemberI think it depends a bit on your phone and how close you are to the camera. I’ve used mine to check the angle before hitting record and it worked fine for that.

MemberI think the app works fine for what it is. I used the live preview to line up a shot on my paddleboard and it did the job without any major issues.

MemberI tried it once just to see if my phone would even connect, and it did the job for checking the angle before I hit record. Not super snappy, but good enough for a quick look.

MemberI think it works fine for live preview, honestly. I’ve used mine to frame shots while snorkeling and didn’t notice any major lag. Maybe it depends on your phone.

MemberI’ve used the live preview a handful of times just to frame stuff and it worked well enough for me. I usually just turn it on to check the angle before I start recording, then turn it off to save battery. Honestly, I don’t think it’s meant for staring at the whole time, but for a quick peek it does the job.

MemberTried the live preview once on mine. It worked but the connection dropped a couple times, so I wouldn’t rely on it for anything important. Mostly just use it to check if the camera is actually recording underwater.

no_sleepParticipantWorks fine for me. Used it a few times to check framing before recording and didn’t have any major issues. Not gonna pretend it’s flawless but it does what it’s supposed to. I’d say try it once and see if your phone handles it.

MemberI gave the live preview a shot just to see if it would actually connect, and it did. Worked fine for checking what the camera was pointed at. Not something I’d use all the time, but it’s there if you need it.

MemberAlright, thanks for the replies. Sounds like it mostly works for framing shots, which is all I really need it for anyway. I’ll probably just give it a quick try before my next trip and stop overthinking it.
