Guess I’ll just plug it in while I unpack everything else and see how it goes. I’m not in a massive rush to use it the second it arrives anyway. Good to know it probably won’t be completely dead, though.
I was in the same boat when I first got mine. I kept seeing the cold water tip everywhere and figured I was missing something. I tried it for a few days straight, switching between fridge cold and regular tap just to see if my brain was playing tricks on me.
Honestly, I think people are giving the cold water way too much credit. I noticed maybe a slightly different feel right at the start, but it was so minor I couldn’t tell if it was the water or just the fact that I was standing right in front of the unit paying attention. Once the fan ran for a bit, it all felt the same to me.
What actually changed my mind about the whole thing was using it for a few weeks and realizing the water temperature was never the factor that mattered. The room conditions were. If the air was dry, it felt great. If it was humid, no amount of cold water was going to make it feel like AC. That was the real lesson for me.
So I just use tap water now. The cold water thing feels like one of those internet habits that sounds logical but doesn’t really move the needle enough to bother with. I’d rather not use up fridge space on something that makes a barely noticeable difference for five minutes.
I put mine in the door actually, and it’s been fine. I know people say the door gets warmer but my fridge is so small that everything is basically the same temperature in there anyway. I figured putting it on a shelf would just mean it takes up space I need for actual food. The door has that little bin thing that’s usually empty for me so it was the obvious spot. Honestly the smell situation has been way better than before, like I can actually open the fridge without getting hit with whatever my onions are doing back there. I don’t think the exact placement matters as much as people make it out to be. If you have a spot where it won’t get knocked over every time you grab something, that’s probably good enough.
That’s just the trade-off with steel wires, I think. They cut so aggressively that everything gets kicked up harder, especially near the ground where the dirt is loose. I noticed mine does the same on dry patches, so I just try to keep the head a bit higher off the soil and it helps some.
Honestly I’d just put it wherever it’s easy to reach and see the screen. I like having mine where I can glance at the numbers when I walk by, so counter height works for me. Probably overthinking the whole thing.
Probably. I mean, USB-C is pretty much USB-C at this point, so I’d be surprised if it demanded some special cable. I’ve got a drawer full of them and I usually just grab whichever one’s closest when I need to charge something. Also, if you lose the one it comes with, it’s not like it’s some weird proprietary plug.
I have the same worry honestly. My wife is pretty petite and the adult mask looks like it would cover a good chunk of her face. I think the seal is probably fine in a real emergency since you’re pressing down firmly, but it’s not something you can really test properly without actually needing it.
Honestly, I think it depends on what you mean by “clearly.” If you’re expecting to see the dog’s face and read its mood, you might be disappointed. But if you just need to see a shape on the couch and tell if it’s moving, it’s fine.

I think people are overestimating what a hose nozzle can do. If your tap pressure is already decent, it’s fine for maintenance washes. But if you’re expecting it to blast off caked on mud like a proper pressure washer, that’s not really what this is made for.

I get why people are skeptical, but honestly the no charging thing is the main reason I’d pick it over something with a USB port. Even if I have to swap a battery every year or two, that’s still way less annoying than remembering to plug it in.
I haven’t tried one yet but I’m leaning towards just getting it for the heating since that seems to be what it does best. The cooling part might just be a bonus.
