Hey all, quick question before I decide on the JetClean. I don’t have a garden hose hookup where I’d use it most, so I’d be relying on the bucket suction thing. Is that setup actually decent for washing a car or is it more of a hassle? Just wondering if it keeps a steady spray or if you’re constantly refilling.

I tried it with a bucket once and it wasn’t as bad as I thought, but I wouldn’t call it steady. It does that thing where the spray pulses a bit if the hose dips or the water gets low. Fine for a quick rinse, but I ended up refilling more than I expected.

Bucket works fine, but you have to manage your expectations. The self-priming hose pulls water okay, so you get a consistent stream while the bucket is full enough. It’s not like the spray dies out mid-panel, but once the water level drops below a certain point, the suction starts sucking air and the pressure drops off noticeably. You’ll notice it mostly when you’re rinsing and the spray turns into more of a sputter.

I mostly use mine for bikes and patio furniture, not full car washes. If I’m doing a whole car, I just accept that I’m stopping to top up the bucket every few minutes. It’s not a dealbreaker, especially if you use a bigger bucket, but it’s not the “set it and forget it” experience you’d get from a hose. For a quick rinse or a spot clean, it’s genuinely fine. Just don’t plan on doing a full detail without a few interruptions.

I think I’m in the minority here, but I’d actually skip the bucket method for this. I like being able to move the spray around without worrying about where the intake hose is sitting, and with a bucket you’re kind of stuck staying close to it. For a quick bike or patio chair rinse it’s probably fine, but for a full car I’d want something more continuous.

I’d say it works, but you’re basically signing up for a workout if you’re doing a whole car. The bucket feed does fine as long as the water level stays above the pickup, but the second it gets low the stream starts sputtering. I just kept a second bucket ready and swapped them out. It’s not terrible, but it’s not the grab-and-go setup the ads make it seem like.

Good to see everyone’s thoughts on this. I actually had the opposite experience, the bucket feed worked fine for me all summer. I did a full wash on my SUV without any drama, just had to keep an eye on the water level and top it off a couple times. Guess it’s one of those things where some units are better than others.
