Carla82MemberI’m thinking about getting one of these for neck and shoulder tension after long flights. The heat function sounds nice on paper, but I’ve tried portable gadgets before where the heat is barely noticeable. Does the Qinux Vibrathea actually get warm enough to make a difference, or is it just a slight tingling? Not expecting a heating pad, just curious if it’s worth it.

Susan KennetMemberThe heat on mine is noticeable but subtle, kind of like a warm pack that’s been sitting out for a bit. It definitely helps loosen things up, but I wouldn’t buy it just for that feature. The stimulation part does more for my shoulders than the heat ever did.

MemberI wouldn’t buy it for the heat part. It gets warm on the top setting but it’s more “notice it’s there” than actual heat therapy. The EMS pulse is what does the work for my shoulders.

MemberI actually think the heat is the weakest part. It warms up but I never felt like it did much for my muscles, the pulse modes are what I keep using it for. If heat is your main reason for buying it you might end up disappointed.

MemberHeat mode is fine for me, not a gimmick. I use it on my lower back after sitting all day and the top setting feels properly warm. It’s not going to replace a real heating pad but it’s more than just a tingle.

MemberI don’t think the heat is a gimmick, but I’ll disagree with the idea that it’s the main selling point. I picked one up before a work trip because I get stiff sitting at a desk all day, and I mostly wanted something small I could use without dragging out a heating pad. The heat did surprise me a little. On the middle setting I could feel it through the pads within a few minutes, and on the top setting it was warm enough that I actually turned it down once. Not hot like a proper heat pad, but definitely more than a slight tingling.
Where I’d push back is the assumption that warm equals useful. For me the heat mostly made the pulse part more tolerable. When I used it without heat, the tingling felt sharper and I kept wanting to move the pads. With heat on, I could actually leave it on my shoulder for the full session and relax into it. So the warmth did something, just not in the way I expected.
I’ve had it about two months and use it maybe twice a week. The pads started losing stick after several uses, which is normal for these things, and replacements aren’t free. That part annoys me more than the heat ever did. If you’re only buying it for warmth, you’ll probably be disappointed. If you want the pulse thing to feel less harsh, the heat is worth having.

MemberI only really use the heat on my neck and it feels like a low setting on a heating pad, warm but not hot. If you’re expecting it to feel like a proper heat wrap you’ll probably be disappointed. It’s there, it just doesn’t do much on its own.

MemberI’ll push back a little on the idea that the heat is a gimmick. I’ve had mine for about two months and I mostly grab it for my shoulders after I’ve been hunched over my desk too long. The top heat setting is genuinely warm, not just a faint tingle. It’s not going to replace an actual heating pad, but for something stuck on your skin while you sit there, it does feel cozy. What surprised me is that the heat plus a low pulse setting is what makes it work for me, not the heat alone. I tried just the heat once and it was pleasant but kind of just sat there. When I add a gentle pulse underneath it, that’s when my shoulders actually loosen up. So for the neck after a flight, I’d say it’s worth a shot. It won’t knock your socks off, but it’s a real warm feeling, not a fake one.

MemberProbably not worth it if heat is the main thing you want.

MemberMine gets warmer than I expected on the top setting, almost too warm on my neck if I leave it in one spot. I don’t think it’s a gimmick at all, but it’s more of a gentle steady heat than anything strong.

Linda RobinsonMemberHeat definitely works, but it’s more of a steady warmth than anything intense. I can feel it through a shirt, which surprised me. If you want actual heat therapy for a knot, this won’t replace that.

MemberMine actually gets pretty toasty on the highest setting, way more than I expected from a little gadget. I’ve used it on my lower back after sitting all day and the heat alone made me keep it on longer than the 15 minutes it recommends. So I’d say it’s not a gimmick at all.

MemberI’ve had mine for a few weeks and the heat is noticeable, just not intense. On the highest setting I can feel it through a thin shirt, so it’s more than a gimmick for me. It won’t replace a real heating pad though.

Rob CMemberHeat mode on mine is basically pointless. I’ve had it a few months and used it mostly on my calf after running, and the heat is the one thing I stopped bothering with. Even on the top setting it stays lukewarm at best, and if you put it over any kind of clothing you feel nothing at all. Bare skin it’s there, but it’s weak enough that I forget it’s even on half the time. The stim part is fine for what it is, that’s why I kept using it, but the heat is not doing anything a hot shower wouldn’t do better. If that’s the main feature you’re buying it for, I’d look elsewhere.

MemberMine warms up enough to notice on my shoulders.
18 de September de 2026 at 02:35 #11649
northshoreParticipantI wouldn’t buy it for the heat, that’s the part I’d skip. Mine warms up a little on the top setting but it’s nothing like a proper heat pad, and I stopped bothering with it after a couple of weeks. If warmth is the main thing you want after a flight, I’d put the money toward something that actually heats.
18 de September de 2026 at 02:59 #11652
Tom W98MemberHeat on these things is always the first corner they cut. Mine barely registered unless I was sitting still and not moving around. It’s not a gimmick exactly, but it’s weak enough that I stopped factoring it in.

MemberI use mine mostly for the heat, weirdly enough. It gets warm enough that I notice it right away on my neck, and I’ve caught myself leaving it on longer than the timer just for that. Not a heating pad, sure, but it does more than tingle for me.

MemberHeat was stronger than I expected on my back.
