I’d grab a separate mount if I were you. I tried mine on a dash pad that had any kind of grain to it and it lasted about two days before it gave up. Glass only for me now.
Never really timed mine or measured the sound, but I get what you mean. It’s got a noticeable whirr, nothing crazy, just the motor doing its thing. I wouldn’t say mine is loud, but it’s definitely not something you’d mistake for silence.
I think it depends on how much you move around at night. I’m a stomach sleeper too and the first week was rough, but I noticed if I scootch down a bit so my shoulders sit in those cutouts, the height feels way more reasonable. Still not flat, but not as tall as it first felt.
I’d skip using it one-handed on a ladder. The hose pulling at your wrist while you’re trying to aim is enough of a pain on the ground, let alone up there. If you’ve got good water pressure, the thing does put out some force, so you kind of need both hands to keep it steady. I’d just do the bottom half from the ground and figure something else out for the top.
I think it really depends on what you’re trying to teach them. I’ve got a one-year-old now but I started using mine around the four-month mark, and for me the main thing was making sure I wasn’t using it as the only training tool. If the pup is just reacting to sounds, that’s pretty normal behavior at that age, so I’d want them to learn the “quiet” command first before relying on the device.
That said, I don’t think the device itself is going to hurt them or mess up their training permanently. It’s just a sound. But if you’re still in the phase where the puppy is figuring out basic commands, I’d probably focus on that first. Once they understand what you want from them, the BarkBuz becomes more of a reminder than a teacher.
That’s just how I did it though. Some people probably have totally different results.
I think it depends on how crowded the beach was. If people were walking all over that spot, the keys are probably gone for good. But if it was quiet, they might still be sitting right there under a thin layer of sand.
From what I’ve seen, the heat is not really the thing that’ll stop you. It’s more that the battery runs out before the camera ever gets hot enough to be a problem. I’ve left mine recording while I went out to grab food and it was still going when I got back, just a bit warm.
Mine clicks too, but I always figured it was just the internal relay doing its thing when the timer cuts power. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it starts getting louder or the unit acts weird after it clicks. These things are pretty simple.
I dunno, I tried using just one and the translation kept cutting out on my end. Probably just my luck, but it wasn’t seamless for me.
Mine didn’t take much extra pressure, so maybe it’s the file or how the chain is sitting in the guide. Could just be a bit of a break-in thing though. It’s still way better than freehanding for me.
I just switch hands every now and then when I’m doing longer stuff. Works fine for me, and the battery lasts long enough that I don’t have to rush.
Good to hear it’s not just a one-wash thing for most people. I’ll stop overthinking it and just enjoy the shine.
Honestly, I’m not totally convinced. I borrowed one from a friend and felt like it mainly cooled the air right next to it, not the whole room.
Good to know I wasn’t the only one bouncing between settings. I pretty much did the same thing, wide for the easy stuff and the narrow stream for the mossy spots. No damage here either, so I’ll just keep doing that.
Honestly, I think people overthink the vents. They’re just there so you don’t feel trapped if your mouth falls open, not to completely stop mouth breathing. Mine works fine for me, I barely notice them.
I kind of like that it’s gentle, actually. I use it on my nightstand while I’m reading and it’s perfect for that—just enough to keep the air from feeling stale without making a bunch of noise or blowing papers around. It works for what it is.
I think people overthink it honestly. I’ve had mine near the vent for a while and it’s still stuck fine, no sign of peeling. If it ever did come off, they’re cheap enough to just replace.
I’ve only had mine for a few weeks, but it’s in a spot that’s pretty shaded for most of the afternoon. Hasn’t died on me yet, though I can’t say I’ve really been keeping a close eye on it. Seems fine for now.
