Just got a WellHeater and I’m trying to figure out the best spot for it in my bedroom. Does it need to be on a wall with nothing around it, or can it sit closer to furniture? I know it’s a plug-in heater, but I’m not sure if the cord reaches from the outlet to where I want it. Any tips on placement would be helpful.

Keep it away from fabric at least. I don’t care what the manual says about clearance, I’ve seen too many of these things get shoved under a blanket or against a bed and it’s just asking for trouble. Mine sits out in the open near the foot of the bed and the cord reaches fine. Just measure your distance to the outlet before you commit to a spot.

I just keep mine on the floor near the outlet I use for my lamp. Haven’t measured anything, just made sure the cord wasn’t stretched tight and the curtains were out of the way. Works fine where it sits.

Cord length has never been my issue with these things. The bigger annoyance is that the touchscreen controls are way too sensitive, so if you put it anywhere near where you actually walk or reach for something, you’ll bump it and change the settings without noticing. Mine ended up in a corner just because I got tired of accidentally turning the fan off.

Mine sits on a little side table right next to the bed, maybe a foot from the headboard. The cord reaches fine from the outlet behind the nightstand, so no issues there. I just make sure nothing like a curtain or throw blanket is hanging over the top of it and it’s been fine.

I’ve got mine sitting on top of a dresser about three feet from my bed and it’s been fine. I just made sure the cord wasn’t running under anything and that the front wasn’t pointed right at the curtains. Haven’t had any issues with it being near furniture, but I don’t shove stuff right up against it either.

I’d say try it in the spot you actually want it first and see how it feels. I moved mine around a few times before settling on a corner that gets a bit of draft. It’s been fine there even with a chair nearby, just not touching it.

Mine’s been sitting on the floor beside my desk for a couple months now. I didn’t overthink the placement, just made sure the cord was flat against the wall and nothing was leaning on it.

The cord on mine reaches pretty far, so I wouldn’t stress too much about that. I have mine tucked in a corner on a low bookshelf, not right up against the wall but close enough that the cord runs straight down to the outlet. I didn’t want it fully surrounded by stuff just because it pulls air from somewhere, but it’s not like I cleared out a whole zone for it either. My nightstand is maybe two feet away and I haven’t had any issues. I think people get too worried about the whole clearance thing. As long as it’s not shoved under a blanket or wedged against a pile of clothes, it’s probably fine. Just plug it in where you want it and see if it gets too warm around the spot after a few minutes.

I put mine near the foot of the bed on the floor and it warms the whole room pretty evenly. The cord from my outlet reaches without any weird stretching. I didn’t pay much attention to clearance honestly, just kept it a few inches from the bed frame and it’s been fine.

Mine ended up way closer to the curtains than I planned because the outlet in my room is in a dumb spot. It’s been fine, no melting or anything, but I wouldn’t push it right against the bed frame. The cord is long enough, just make sure it’s not stretched tight around a corner.

I just kept mine near the outlet and pointed it toward the bed. The cord isn’t crazy long, so I didn’t have much choice. It’s been close to my dresser for a few weeks now and hasn’t been an issue.

Wall placement matters less than keeping it off anything flammable, cord length has been fine for me.

I actually think people overthink the placement thing. I’ve got mine wedged between my dresser and the wall and it’s been running almost every night for two months with zero issues. The cord reaches fine, but I also wasn’t trying to put it across the room. Just stick it wherever you actually want it and move on.

I think people get too hung up on the exact spot. I have mine on the floor near my desk chair and it does the job fine. As long as it’s not touching anything and has some breathing room, you’re good. The cord is decent but I wouldn’t plan on running it across the room.

I’ve had mine sitting on a low shelf with stuff around it and it’s been fine. The air blows out the front, so as long as the front is clear it seems to do the job. The cord is definitely not generous, so I’d measure from your outlet before planning a spot.
