I’ve had mine for about two months now and honestly the vibration mode does translate to pulling, but you have to catch the behavior at the right moment. With my shepherd, if I wait until she’s already locked onto something, the vibration just becomes background noise. But the second I feel the leash start to tighten, a quick buzz reminds her and she checks back in with me. It’s not magic, you still have to pair it with a command or a treat when she looks back, otherwise she just gets used to it. I also don’t use it every single walk, because I noticed if I overuse it she starts ignoring it. I think for a lab that’s more of a constant puller than a reactive lunger, it could work well, but you’ll probably need to find that sweet spot with the intensity. It’s definitely not just a barking tool though, that’s for sure.
I actually think the scent thing is a little overblown in the marketing. Mine arrived and yeah, there was a faint smell through the pouch, but it was really mild. Like, I could smell it if I put my nose right up to the foil, but it wasn’t filling up the room or anything. I honestly thought it was going to be stronger based on what everyone else is saying. It wasn’t until I tore it open and actually placed it that I really noticed the peppermint coming through. So if you’re expecting to smell it from across the garage before you even open the package, I’d temper those expectations. It’s there, it’s just not super obvious until you rip it.
Honestly I just like that it doesn’t need batteries. That’s the whole reason it’s in our cabinet instead of something else. As for the one pull thing, I think it’s more about getting the mask seated right than anything else. Once you do that, it does its job fast.

The closer and clearer the person speaks, the better it does, but I wouldn’t say it’s flawless in total chaos. It’s not a dealbreaker for me, but I wouldn’t rely on it for a super important conversation in a crowd.
I’d say it really comes down to how often you’re pressing the button. Mine has gone from full charge to blinking red by early evening when I was using it a lot, but on lighter days it’s been fine well past dinner. I wouldn’t skip the power bank if you know you’ll be chatting a ton, just for peace of mind.

If you’re trying to spot animals at moderate distance and you just need to know if it’s a deer or a coyote, it does the job. If you’re hoping to count antler points or read a tag number, you’ll be disappointed.
I wouldn’t call it a gimmick though. It’s more like a bonus feature that works within certain limits. The IR is really what does the heavy lifting at night.

Glad it’s not just me then. I noticed the same thing on some green highway signs, they almost looked like they had a weird tint to them for a second. Doesn’t bother me enough to stop using them, but I did wonder if I had a bad pair or something.
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about WiFi at all. Mine just connects to my phone through Bluetooth and that’s it. It saves everything locally and syncs later.
