My old tower fan finally gave up and I’m looking at the Qinux PolarBreeze. The bladeless thing is interesting but I’m wondering if it actually moves air as well as a regular fan. I know it’s quieter and all, but does it feel weaker or is it just different? Anyone here switched from a normal fan to this?

If it’s mainly for sitting near your desk or beside the bed, I’d say go for it. But if you’re expecting it to cool down a whole room the way a tower fan does, you’re probably going to be let down. I had mine for about a month before I moved it to just personal use near my couch. It’s fine for that, but I wouldn’t want it as my only fan.

I actually made the same switch about a month ago. Old tower fan was fine but loud and my cat kept knocking it over. The PolarBreeze is way lighter so that problem is gone.

If you’re the type who likes to sit right in front of the fan and feel it hitting you, you’ll probably be a little disappointed.

For me it works because I mostly wanted something that moves air around while I sleep without sounding like a jet engine. The remote is handy too since I can adjust it without getting out of bed. It’s a tradeoff for sure, just depends on what bothers you more, noise or raw power.
