Mine stopped feeling odd around the second week, but I think it was mostly because I quit thinking about it and just cooked. If you’re actively noticing it every time you pick the knife up, that’s a different thing. I’d give it a few more meals before deciding.
Small electronics are actually where I noticed it most. My little rechargeable toothbrush used to take forever to charge and after a few weeks it seemed to top off faster. Could be the unit, could be the toothbrush getting older, but I’m keeping it plugged in either way.
I mostly use mine for movies and shows and they work great for that. People keep saying they’re only good for face to face stuff but I’ve watched a bunch of Korean dramas with them and had no trouble following along.
I’ve had mine for about a month and the lefty thing mostly faded once I stopped choking up on it so much. Grip it a bit further back and it sits straighter in your hand. Could just be me though, I’m not exactly gentle with my gear.
I’d just leave it in quiet mode for that kind of setting and not touch it. That’s basically what I do when it’s just me and one other person in a normal room, and I quit fiddling with modes weeks ago. Two people talking is the easy case for mine.

Total silence would probably be a different story. If you truly need dead quiet, I don’t think any little fan is going to disappear completely.
A metal pick only does what your hand does, which is scrape. The DappSmile tips vibrate, so they knock stuff loose instead of you having to chip at it forever. That’s a real difference, not just a fancier handle. I’ve had mine about four months and I still reach for it over the old pick.
I’ve been running SavingStars through our house for close to a year now, probably once a month on the tub drain, and our septic has been totally fine. Had it pumped in the fall and the guy didn’t say a word about it. The powder thing isn’t really the point, it’s more about not dumping a whole container every week.
Tap water has worked fine in mine for about four months now. I just dump whatever’s in the sink, run it a few times a week, and nothing’s clogged up or smelled weird. A quick rinse every so often seems to handle any buildup before it becomes a thing. Maybe it shortens the life somewhere down the road but I haven’t seen it yet.
Mine sits on a bookshelf nowhere near a window and I still pull in all my local channels fine. Took a bit of fiddling with where exactly I set it, but once it locked in it stayed put. Worth a shot in your place before you start hauling stuff into the kitchen.
I actually get closer to ten days on a charge, but I only switch mine on when the barking starts. Leaving it running all day is probably what’s eating your battery, not some defect.
I think the VultrioX is worth grabbing if you’re tired of stopping to sharpen or replace stuff. I used mine mostly on rocky patches and fence lines where I used to worry about the blade sparking or kicking things up. It chewed through the overgrowth fine, though I did notice it takes a bit longer on really thick stems.
I keep mine shoved in a spot where I can barely reach it and it’s been running for months without a hiccup. The learning process doesn’t care about angles or how tidy it looks. As long as it’s actually plugged in and making contact, you’re good.
I had mine sitting on carpet in a spare room for a couple weeks when I first got it, just because I hadn’t decided where to keep it yet. It cooled fine, but I did notice it seemed to work a little harder than when I have it on a hard floor now. Not enough to worry about, just something I paid attention to. If your carpet is really thick and fluffy, you might want to put something flat under it just for peace of mind, but I wouldn’t call it a dealbreaker.
The heat is definitely not the same as a radiator, that’s for sure. I had one of those oil filled ones for years too and I know exactly what you mean about the slow warm up. With the CoolCove you get that warm air moving pretty much right away, so it’s a much more direct feeling. It’s not a weak little breeze either, it actually pushes the air out with some force.
For my own personal taste, that direct warmth is actually what I prefer now. I sit at my desk and I want to feel it on me within a minute or two, not wait half an hour for the whole room to slowly soak up the heat. The radiator always made the room feel cozy eventually, but I was freezing during the wait. So for me, the switch was worth it just for that reason alone. The fact that it doubles as a cooler in the summer was just a bonus that convinced me to pull the trigger.
I think it comes down to whether you like being blasted with warmth or you want the ambient heat. Some people find the direct air too much after a while, but I honestly don’t mind it. I just point it where I need it and get on with my day.
I ended up grabbing one mostly for the preloaded stuff and I honestly haven’t bothered adding my own ROMs yet. The selection it came with covers what I wanted to play, so I’ve just been working through those. Not saying it’s the biggest library ever, but it’s been enough for me so far.

From my experience, the actual physical part is basically nothing. Unfold the arms, pop the props out, make sure the battery is clicked in. That part takes me maybe thirty seconds now because I don’t even think about it anymore. The phone connection is where the time can go, but it has gotten way more reliable for me after that first week. I remember the first couple of times it would take a minute or two to handshake with the app, and one time I had to kill the app and restart it before it would pick up the feed. That hasn’t happened in a long while though.
The thing that probably eats more time than the setup is just waiting for the GPS to lock in if you’re in a new spot. That is not really the drone’s fault, more just where I am standing. I usually turn everything on while I’m still getting my stuff organized, so by the time I am ready to actually look up, it is already sitting there with a solid connection and I can just go.
If you are expecting to pull it out and have it hovering in under a minute, you might be a little off, but if you give yourself a few minutes to breathe, it is not a chore at all. It is not like those older drones where you felt like you needed a checklist.
I actually think the SawShark does a pretty solid job of keeping things consistent. I have been sharpening my chains with it for a couple months now and when I look closely at the teeth they seem uniform enough for the saw to cut straight. Maybe your chain had some uneven wear on it before you started using the tool, which can make it look off no matter how careful you are with the guide.
If I were buying it again, I’d just plan on giving it about a week before making up my mind. The first couple nights it felt a little more noticeable under my head, but my body got used to it fast. I don’t think you need to force yourself through a long miserable stretch or anything, just don’t judge it on night one.
I actually made the same switch about a month ago. Old tower fan was fine but loud and my cat kept knocking it over. The PolarBreeze is way lighter so that problem is gone.
The airflow thing though, yeah, it’s different. My old fan felt like a focused stream you could feel from across the room. This one is more like a soft spread that you notice when you walk into the room rather than a direct blast. If you’re the type who likes to sit right in front of the fan and feel it hitting you, you’ll probably be a little disappointed.
For me it works because I mostly wanted something that moves air around while I sleep without sounding like a jet engine. The remote is handy too since I can adjust it without getting out of bed. It’s a tradeoff for sure, just depends on what bothers you more, noise or raw power.
I get the worry about ash being too fine for it, but for me it’s more about the mess factor than the clogging. I’ve used mine a few times on ash and it picks it up no problem, but that fine stuff does get everywhere when you open it up to empty it. Just make sure you do that outside and you should be fine.
I’d pass on this for mirrors honestly. It cleans fine but you still have to wipe after, so you might as well use a cloth and spray.
I actually don’t get that at all, mine feels pretty neutral to me. I’ve been using mine almost every day for meal prep and it sits fine in my hand without me having to adjust anything. Maybe it’s just how you’re gripping it or where your hand lands on the handle. Different strokes I guess, but I haven’t noticed any heaviness on my end.
