It’ll cool it down, just don’t expect it to work like a window unit. For a 10×10 room it does what it says.
Oscillation probably eats a bit more battery since it’s moving the whole unit, but honestly I’d guess the fan speed is the bigger drain. I just run mine on low and it lasts long enough for a work day, so I don’t overthink it.
I’d probably just plug it into the converter box and see what happens. My TV is from like 2008 and I had the same concern but it picked up channels fine after the box. Not sure if it’s worth it if you’re only expecting a ton of channels though.
Good to know. Seems like the general take is that it’ll work for couch checks, which is basically all I need. Preciate the input, I’ll grab one.
I’ve had mine for a few weeks and honestly I’m not impressed with the battery. It drains faster than I expected even with just beep and vibration mode. Kind of a letdown.
Mine lags a bit with really fast talkers, especially if there’s background noise. Not enough to ruin the conversation but I definitely notice it.
Translation is a separate thing so yeah it’s gonna pull more power. Not totally sure how much it matters for a trip though since you can just pop them back in the case between conversations.
