Small stuff is where I’d expect the least change, if any. A phone charger pulls so little that whatever the StopWatt is doing in the background probably isn’t going to show up as a cooler brick. That’s not really a knock on it, just how it goes with tiny loads.
I picked one up mainly because I wanted to see if it did anything noticeable at all. What I actually noticed after a few weeks was my ceiling lights being a bit steadier when the microwave kicks on. Before, they’d flicker slightly every time. Now they don’t. That’s about the only thing I can point to honestly. Whether that’s the StopWatt or just my wiring settling down, I can’t say for sure.
So for small electronics? I doubt you’ll see much. Bigger draws are where it might actually matter.
The IR spooking them thing sounds off to me. Bats have been flying right past my porch while I had mine on and they didn’t seem bothered at all. The blurry part I believe, but I doubt the light is the issue.
Mine sits about a foot to the right of my monitor and I’ve never had an issue with it scattering anything. Only time it moved a sticky note was when I had it pointed straight down the desk at full speed. I angle it toward my chair now and that solved it.
I had a UV cap bottle for about six months and the smell thing is real. Water left in it for two or three days stayed fine, which never happened with my old one. But charging it got old fast. For me it was worth it, just barely.
I’d say it’s a fit thing, but the brace itself has limits. I tried one on and the stabilizers were noticeable the second I sat down, not just after a while. For me it wasn’t something I could adjust away without losing the support when standing. If you’re spending more time seated than moving, that might be a dealbreaker.
It’s probably going to feel a little weird for the first minute or two, just because you’re not used to having something that close to your face. I wouldn’t overthink the grip though. The device is light enough that slipping isn’t really the issue. It’s more about figuring out the angle that feels right for you.
I’ve got smaller hands as well and found that holding it lower down, more like a little flashlight than a pen, gave me better control. The smooth body can feel a bit slick if your hands are damp, but as long as they’re dry, I don’t see it being a problem.
The whole thing is so small that even if your grip is off at first, it’s not like you’re wrestling with something heavy. You’ll adjust within the first use or two. Just don’t grip it too tight, that’s when things get shaky.
I’d be more worried about the masks than the device itself, honestly. Heat and cold can make silicone or rubber get stiff or brittle over time, and that’s the part that needs to seal properly when you actually need it. The plastic body will probably be fine. I haven’t done a full summer with mine in the car, but I’ve left it in a hot trunk for a few weeks by accident and it still works when I tested it. The valve felt a little stickier afterward but not enough to make me think it’s broken. I guess it depends on how long you plan to leave it there. A few months, probably okay. Years of baking in a glovebox, I’d swap it out or bring it inside during the worst of the season. That’s more of a long term wear thing than an immediate failure thing.
If you’re already comfortable messing with files on a computer, adding ROMs is pretty straightforward. I’d say the preloaded list is decent enough to keep you busy for a while, but the real fun is dumping your own stuff on there. Just make sure the file types match what the emulators expect and you’re good to go.
I had mine on a fairly plush carpet for a couple months and it never really slid, but the damn thing did leave an indent in the pile after a while. Not a big deal, it fluffed back up, but if you care about that sort of thing it might bug you.
I just swap mine when I remember, which is usually around the 3 month mark since that’s when I start noticing my hair getting a bit more static and flyaway. Tap water works, but keep in mind it’s not actually filtering anything. If your sink water has heavy metals or chemicals, those are staying in there. UV just kills bacteria. Fine for most city tap water, but if you’re on well water or something sketchy, that’s a different story.
Mine’s done the same thing twice now. Not a full forget, just a refusal to grab the phone automatically when I get in. I always have to open Bluetooth settings and tap it, then it’s fine for another week or two. I’ve kind of accepted it as a quirk at this point.

If yours is actually dropping the phone from the list entirely, that’s more annoying than what I’m dealing with. But if it’s just a manual reconnect thing, I’d say that’s pretty normal for these adapters. They’re not the most consistent little boxes, but they’re still better than plugging the cable in every time.
10 meters is optimistic unless it has a clear line to the dog. Mine sat on a fence post and caught barking from maybe half that distance before it stopped reacting. You are better off placing it closer to the fence line than the house. Not a set it and forget it thing.
I haven’t bothered with warm grates yet. Honestly I just use it cold and it gets the crust off fine for me. Maybe I’m missing out but I’d rather not risk melting anything or messing up the brush head over saving a few minutes.
I don’t think pitch is the real issue here. The part that grabs the tooth is what matters, and that varies more than people expect. Mine fits my 3/8 and .325 fine, but I tried it on an old chain with a different drive link shape and it wouldn’t seat properly at all. So check the tooth profile, not just the pitch number.
I had the same question when I got mine. No screen protector in the box, just the basic plastic film that’s clearly meant to be peeled off. I’ve had mine in a backpack for a couple weeks now and no scratches so far, but the screen is glossy enough that I can see it picking up marks eventually. Probably worth grabbing one if you’re already ordering.

Honestly, battery drain seems tied to how long the stirrer actually runs, not just how many drinks you make. I do a thick hot chocolate most nights and those batteries go quicker than I expected. One set lasted me about three weeks, which is fine, I guess, just not amazing.
If you remolded it right, the tightness is probably doing what it’s supposed to do. My experience was that the material softened a bit but the fit stayed firm, which I actually wanted. A loose mouthpiece is useless anyway. I’d rather have it snug than wake up with it sitting in my cheek.
Mine works but the timing depends on how far the phone is from the tag when you separate. If you drop your bag on the chair next to you and walk out, it pings almost instantly. If the tag is buried deep in a suitcase or backpack, the Bluetooth connection can hold on a bit longer and the alert takes a couple extra minutes to fire. That’s just how these things work though.
What I’d watch out for is the opposite scenario. If you’re in a crowded place and the tag is sitting still on a bench, the app sometimes treats other people’s phones as a location reference and the geofence gets a little confused. It doesn’t happen constantly but it’s happened to me a few times in airports where the tag showed a different location than where it actually was.
For basic “did I leave my stuff behind” purposes it’s fine. I wouldn’t trust it as your only safety net for something expensive.
Cellular dead zones don’t touch it, but if your car’s USB port is finicky, that’s what’ll actually bite you.
Tried mine with regular jeans and honestly it just felt like a thick knee sleeve, nothing crazy. No bunching behind the knee, no weird bulges. If you wear slim-fit stuff it might show a bit, but normal straight-leg pants hide it fine.
