That stuff is for paint, not textured plastic. I tried a similar cloth on my old CR-V’s bumper trim and it just left white residue stuck in all the little grain lines. Took forever to get it out.
Mine came with everything unlocked when I bought it last year, no extra tier sitting there tempting me. I use the live conversation thing pretty regularly at work and it’s never asked me for a card. Maybe they changed it since then, but my pair has just been a normal one time purchase.
Mine came with a tip already seated, but I actually had to charge it first before anything happened. The button just blinked at me until I plugged it in for a bit, so that part is worth knowing if you grab one.
I actually found it pretty straightforward, way easier than I expected going in. My brother sent me a folder of old arcade games he had lying around and I figured it would be a whole project, but it ended up being like twenty minutes of fiddling. I just plugged the stick into my laptop, found the folder where the games live, and dropped the new files in next to the existing ones. Unplugged it, plugged it back into the TV, and there they were in the menu. No drama at all.
The one thing that tripped me up was file names. A couple of mine had weird characters in them and those didn’t show up until I renamed them to something plain. Once I did that they were fine. I’m not someone who messes with this kind of stuff normally, I mostly just wanted to play some old favorites from when I was a kid, and it worked out.
So I’d say go for it. Back up the original files first if you’re nervous, then you can always put things back the way they were. That took me two minutes and gave me peace of mind. The worst case is you copy something wrong and just delete it again. It’s not like you can break the console by adding a file. Mine’s been running fine with the extra games for a couple months now and I haven’t had any issues.
You really have to try it in your own fridge because everyone’s layout is so different. Mine is on the smaller side and I just tucked it on an empty spot in the door, it’s been there for weeks and I honestly forget it’s even there. It didn’t change how much food I can fit at all.
I think it might just take some adjusting, honestly. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and I remember the first couple of days the stabilizers felt pretty intrusive whenever I was parked on a hard chair. It was like they were reminding me they were there the whole time.
But somewhere along the way I stopped noticing them. I don’t know if the brace loosened up a bit or if I just got used to the feeling, but now sitting at my desk for a few hours isn’t a problem. I do wear it a little looser than I did at first though, so that probably helps.
If it’s really digging in, maybe try shifting the brace slightly higher or lower on your leg before you sit down. Sometimes just a tiny nudge changes where the support lands. Hopefully it settles in for you like it did for me.
I’ve had these for a few months now and switching between my laptop and phone is pretty painless. I just tap to connect on whichever device I’m using and it grabs the signal right away. I haven’t had to do the whole forget and re-pair dance at all, which was my old pet peeve too.
I think your routine sounds fine honestly. I do mine on totally dry skin too and just make sure everything is clean before I put it on. Then I follow up with whatever I normally use after.
I move mine around whenever it feels like too much, usually way before the 20 minutes. Sometimes 5 minutes is plenty on one spot, especially on the neck area where it gets intense fast. I think that weird feeling is just your muscles saying theyve had enough there for now.
I always keep mine on a power strip and it’s been totally fine for months now. I know some heaters are picky about that, but this one doesn’t seem to care. If the strip is decent quality and nothing else heavy is on it, I wouldn’t overthink it.
We tried Omnihear with my dad mostly for walks near the road, and the outdoor mode didn’t make the wind worse, which was my main worry. It still let some breeze noise through, but voices stayed clearer than I expected. I think it depends on how breezy it actually is, but it handled a typical park day fine.
I’ve used mine mostly for ash from a little backyard fire pit that I bring inside to cool, so it’s seen a fair amount of it. It does pick it up fine, but I wouldn’t say it’s super happy about it. The filter gets a bit of a white coating pretty fast, and you do have to tap it out or give it a quick rinse more often than with regular crumbs.
The thing that surprised me is that it’s more about the ash being warm or damp that makes it stick. If it’s fully cool and dry, it’s not bad at all. I made the mistake once of vacuuming up ash that still had a little heat in it and that was a mess, it kind of clung to everything inside. So as long as you let it sit overnight, I think you’ll be okay. Just expect to empty it right after.
For me it was pretty much comfortable from the start, but I also came from a pillow that was already somewhat similar in shape. I think it really depends on what you’re used to sleeping on. If your old pillow was flat or super soft, yeah, it’s going to feel weird for a bit.
I think it’s smart to look at it that way, because the surge protection is definitely oversold on these things. I’ve had mine plugged in for a while now, mostly because I wanted to see if the power bill changed at all. But for storms and dips, I wouldn’t put any real faith in it.
The way I see it, a proper surge protector is a chunky strip or a whole-home unit that actually has ratings and specs behind it. This little plug-in just doesn’t have the guts for that job. It might smooth things out a tiny bit, but if a real surge hits, I doubt it’s doing much to stop it from reaching your TV or fridge.
If you’re mainly worried about storm damage, I’d spend the money on a decent surge protector for your important stuff and treat StopWatt as just an efficiency experiment. That’s basically what I did, and it feels like the responsible way to go.
I’m in the opposite camp on this one, oddly enough. I tried the whole ice cube thing for the first few weeks and honestly it felt like more hassle than it was worth. Filling those little trays, remembering to pop them out, carrying them to my desk without dripping everywhere. After a while I just stopped bothering and now I only use cold water straight from the tap. For me, the difference isn’t huge enough to justify the daily routine.
I think it depends a lot on where you are and what you’re expecting. My office gets pretty warm in the afternoon but it’s not unbearable, and the CoolJet with plain water gives me that nice constant breeze that keeps me from feeling stuffy. It’s not going to make the room feel like a walk-in fridge or anything, but it does take the edge off. I actually find the airflow itself does most of the work for me.
I did notice that on the hottest days, like when it’s properly muggy outside, the water alone feels a bit weaker. That’s when I miss the ice, I’ll admit. But those days are rare enough for me that I’d rather deal with a slightly less chilly breeze than mess with ice trays every single morning. I just refill the tank when I get in and that’s it.
I noticed the delay is still there, just shorter. It’s not instant like watching TV, but it’s close enough that I can see my dog get up from his bed and walk to the water bowl without that weird frozen gap between movements. My old camera made everything look like a slideshow, so this feels snappier to me. I do think the wifi matters, but even on a decent connection there’s still a tiny bit of lag. Just not enough to bother me. I mainly use it to peek in and make sure nothing’s on fire or that the dog hasn’t eaten the couch, so a second either way doesn’t really change much.
I tried it and honestly it felt like wearing one of those thicker mouth guards for sports, not terrible but definitely not something I forgot about. I don’t have a huge mouth either and it was manageable for the few minutes I used it, but I wouldn’t want to keep it in much longer than that.
I think the game count is one of those things where you just stop looking at the number after the first week. I got mine mostly for the two player stuff and I have not once felt like I was missing out because there are duplicates. There is enough variety to keep you busy for a long time, even if a chunk of it is filler.
Mine has been through a whole winter now and never once tripped anything, even in my drafty old apartment.
I think part of it is just that you get used to it fast. The first shower or two felt slightly different to me, but now I don’t really notice unless I think about it. Not a bad thing, just not a dramatic change.

I think your border collie will be okay with it. My dog is about 17 kg and the strap still has room to tighten further, so it’s not like it’s hanging loose or anything. The buckle part sits snugly enough that it doesn’t slide around when we’re out walking, but I also don’t have to crank it down to the last hole. For a 20 kg dog you’d probably be right in the middle of the adjustment range, which feels like the sweet spot honestly.
The only thing I noticed is that the contact points press a bit if the collar is too tight, but that’s more about how you position it than the size itself. I just make sure it’s not choking him and it’s been fine for daily wear. I wouldn’t overthink the sizing too much.
