Thinking about getting FitiBeats but I mostly switch between my phone and laptop for calls and music. Bluetooth pairing on some earbuds I’ve tried is painfully slow or drops connection when switching devices. Is it straightforward with these or do you have to forget and re-pair all the time?

I’ve had these for a few months now and switching between my laptop and phone is pretty painless. I just tap to connect on whichever device I’m using and it grabs the signal right away. I haven’t had to do the whole forget and re-pair dance at all, which was my old pet peeve too.

Mine pairs fine with my laptop, but I wouldn’t call it seamless. Every now and then I have to go into Bluetooth settings and manually select it because it won’t auto-connect. Not a huge deal, but if you’re expecting it to just know which device you want without touching anything, you might be disappointed.

Switching between devices is the main reason I grabbed these, and it’s been fine for me. I don’t have to go through the forget and re-pair dance like I did with older earbuds. It’s just a quick manual pick from the Bluetooth list when I want to hop over to the laptop. Not instant, but not a hassle either.

I’m one of those people who forgets to close apps and has like 14 browser tabs open, so I was bracing for the worst with switching. For me, the FitiBeats actually handle it better than I expected. What I noticed is that they don’t try to connect to both devices at once, which is usually where things go sideways with other earbuds I’ve owned. It just sticks with whatever you connected to last.

The one thing that threw me off at first is that there’s no real “switching” button. You just have to pause whatever you’re listening to on one device and hit play on the other. If you do that, it picks up pretty fast. If you leave music paused on your laptop and then try to take a call on your phone, it can get a little confused for a second, but nothing that requires forgetting the device.

I haven’t had to re-pair them once since the initial setup, so that part is definitely not a hassle.

I think a lot of it depends on what you’re used to. I switch between my work laptop and phone all day and it’s never made me want to throw them across the room. I’ve had the opposite experience, honestly. My laptop picks them up right away, but switching back to my phone can be sluggish sometimes. Not enough to make me hate them, but it’s not as smooth as people make it sound. If you jump between devices a lot, you might notice it more than I do.

I was actually worried about this before I bought mine because I hate messing with Bluetooth settings. I keep mine connected to my work laptop during the day and my phone the rest of the time. For me it’s been pretty smooth. It does take a couple of seconds to switch over when I walk away from my desk, but I don’t have to go into settings and forget the device or anything like that. It just kind of figures it out.

The only thing I noticed is that if I have music paused on my laptop and then try to play something on my phone, it can get a little confused about which device it should be paying attention to. But if I just pause one before switching to the other, it’s fine. I wouldn’t call it a hassle, just something you get used to after a few days.

My laptop is the one device that gives me grief sometimes. Phone to laptop switching works okay, but if I leave the earbuds idle for a while, I end up having to dig through the Bluetooth menu to nudge them awake. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely not the seamless thing the packaging hints at.
