Swapped from a painted wall to this screen a few months back and my lap times stayed the same, so I never noticed anything off. If anything my picture looks sharper now. I’d look at your projector’s settings.
Mine fits my 12 lb terrier mix fine, but I did notice the collar sits a bit high on his neck compared to his old one. It hasn’t rubbed him or anything after a couple months of daily walks. The strap does loosen up over time, so I check it every week or so.
Different animals react to different frequency settings. I bumped mine up a notch and the pigeons finally stopped landing on my shed roof. Robins still don’t care though, so I just leave it.
Mine are fine when I’m sitting, but I noticed the digging feeling goes away once I stop overthinking the strap tightness. I spent the first week or so adjusting them constantly, trying to find that sweet spot between locked in and comfortable. Turns out I had them a bit tighter than needed.
What helped me was loosening the lower strap just slightly before sitting down for longer periods. Not enough to make the brace slide around, but enough that the stabilizers aren’t pressing into the same spot for an hour straight. I also shift position more often than I used to, which probably helps.
The brace has softened up some over the last month too. Newer ones are stiffer out of the box and take time to mold to your leg shape. If you’ve only had it a few days, give it a couple of weeks before deciding it’s a dealbreaker.
I had the same thing happen the first couple times I used mine on the windows in the living room. What I found was that it really depends on how fast I move the nozzle across the glass. If I go slow and let the steam sit for even a second too long, it leaves those drying marks. When I speed up and keep a steady pace, it looks much better. That said, I still keep a dry microfiber cloth nearby for the edges and corners where the steam tends to pool up a bit. The main pane usually comes out fine now, but the bottom edge always needs a quick wipe. I would not say it is a flaw with the unit, just one of those things you get a feel for after a few tries. The kitchen window can also be trickier if there is any cooking grease film on it.
It really depends on how much control he has left. My dad got one a few months back and the guard does its job, so no nicks or cuts, but I would not say it made the whole process easy for him. The button is the part that gave him trouble because he has to keep it pressed while moving the trimmer along the nail, and that combination is where the shaking shows up the most. He can do it, but he still needs to brace his wrist against the table or his knee to steady himself.
The one thing that surprised me is how much slower it is than a regular clipper. That is actually a plus for him since there is less pressure to get it done quickly. He just goes nail by nail and takes a break if his hand gets too tired. I would say it is worth trying if the goal is safer trimming, but it is not a set it and forget it tool. He still has to be patient with it.
Touch is mostly what I end up using, but not for the obvious stuff. I found it’s way easier to just tap to adjust volume than to shout over music or traffic. Voice is fine for setting things up, but once I’m out walking, the touch controls are the default.
Took me closer to two and a half weeks before I stopped waking up and adjusting it in the middle of the night. I almost gave up on it around day ten because my neck felt more tired than before I got it, but I stuck with it and I’m glad I did. The first week was genuinely rough for me, not just a little weird. I think the issue was that my old pillow was super flat and worn out, so my neck was used to being in a completely different position. Once I got past that adjustment, I stopped thinking about it entirely. I don’t even notice the pillow under my head anymore, which I guess is the point. I would say give it a full two weeks before you decide either way.
It does fine on mirrors, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to use it for that. I’ve done it when the glass was really grimy and it worked, but for a quick weekly wipe I still just grab the spray. It’s more of a deep clean tool for me.
I picked one up a few weeks back and I’m pretty sure the only thing on the screen is that thin plastic shipping film. I peeled it off right away and just left the screen bare. For what it costs, I wasn’t expecting a real protector in the box.
I’ve been tossing it in my backpack on the way to work and so far the screen’s holding up fine. The thing is, the screen sits a little recessed from the bezel, so it’s not like it’s directly rubbing against stuff all the time. That said, if you’re planning on carrying it loose with keys or change, I’d probably grab a cheap protector just for peace of mind. They’re like a few bucks anyway, so it’s not a big investment either way.
I haven’t bothered with one yet, but I also don’t think I’ve been treating it roughly enough to worry.
I’ve had mine for about a month now and I mostly use it to see if I’ve been lazy or not. It definitely adds a few extra steps when I’m just puttering around the kitchen, but I just treat it as a rough guide. My old band was the opposite, so I’ve stopped comparing them entirely.
Mine sits on a little shelf under the eaves, pointing mostly at the side yard, and it still covers the whole back corner. I noticed the solar panel matters more than the sensor direction, so I just made sure that side gets sun for most of the day.
I ran mine off a bucket for a couple of months before I bothered hooking up a hose. It’s not a firehose, but it gets the soap and rinse done fine for a normal car. You swap buckets maybe once or twice depending on how dirty things are. I wouldn’t call it a hassle, just part of the routine.
Mine’s been pretty snappy actually. The notification usually lands before the bird even gets a chance to grab a seed, at least on my end. Maybe it’s a Wi-Fi thing or how close the feeder is to the router. I’ve had a few missed ones too, but not enough to bother me.
Had mine on the bedroom TV for about a year now. Heat hasn’t been an issue with the adhesive at all, it’s still stuck on there solid. TV runs all evening most nights. I’d say just stick it on and forget about it.
I’d say don’t stress too much about it. The counter outlet is probably fine, but if you’re really unsure just pick a spot where the alarm is loud enough for you to hear from the bedroom. That’s the main thing I’d keep in mind.
Pads on these newer units definitely feel a bit less beefy than the old school ones. I just figure they’re disposable anyway, so I don’t stress about it too much.
