MemberHey, maybe a silly question but I paired my iTagPro with my phone and it says I can check the last known location. Does that just show up on the map by itself or do I have to do something to save it? I left my bag at a friend’s place yesterday and saw the spot on the app, which was actually kind of handy. Just wondering if it keeps updating that on its own or if I’m supposed to set something up first. Thanks!

MemberIt updates on its own. I never saved anything manually and mine still shows the last spot where my phone was near it. That’s how I found my keys at the gym last week.

MemberMine did that from the start too, no setup needed. The app just keeps whatever spot it last pinged, so you don’t have to save anything yourself. I’ve noticed it holds onto that spot even after I’ve moved on with my phone. π

MemberIt does keep the last spot on its own, but I think what trips people up is expecting it to update while the tag is just sitting somewhere. Mine only refreshes when my phone gets close enough to it again. So when I left my keys in my car overnight, the app showed the car as the last location, and that stayed put until I walked back out there the next morning. Nothing to save manually. The one thing I’d say is to check the timestamp on that location, because a spot from yesterday can look current if you don’t pay attention. I got mixed up once thinking my wallet was still at the gym when it had actually been in my kitchen for hours. The map just showed the older ping until I got near it again. Still handy, just worth glancing at the time stamp.

MemberMine pops up on the map without me touching anything, which was a nice surprise. The catch for me is that it only reflects the last time my phone was actually near the tag, so it can look stale if I’ve been away for a while. Still handy for a quick glance though.

Dave RunnerMemberMine doesn’t just show it automatically, or at least not the way I expected. When I first got it I assumed it would keep the map pin updated whenever my phone was near the tag, but in practice the spot only seems to refresh when I actually open the app and let it connect. If I don’t open it for a day or two, the pin sits exactly where it was last time I checked. So for your bag situation, the spot you saw was probably from that last moment your phone and the tag were close, not a live thing running in the background. It still helped me find my keys in the couch once, but I had to open the app and wait a second for it to catch up. Not a big deal, just don’t count on it staying current on its own.

Rachel ColeMemberMine only showed a pin after my phone had actually been near the tag, so the map was blank until then. If you already saw your bag’s spot, that was it doing its job. Don’t expect it to keep moving on its own while the tag sits somewhere.

MemberThe map pin tends to lag a bit behind real life, so the spot you saw was probably from the last time your phone actually connected to the tag. Mine updates whenever I’m near it but stays put otherwise, which is fine for a bag.

SarahMParticipantMine didn’t show anything until I actually opened the app and let it connect. It’s not really automatic in the background for me, so I check it now and then if I need the last spot.

Luis_A91MemberIt just shows up on its own once itβs paired, nothing extra to set up. I checked mine after a trip and the spot was already sitting there. Kind of nice for the price honestly.

MemberMine doesn’t really update by itself like that. It only refreshes the pin when my phone is actually near the tag, so if I leave it somewhere the spot stays put until I’m close again. Sounds like what you saw was just the last time it connected.

MemberI prefer turning on notifications so it updates without me checking.

MemberMine only saves that spot when the app is actually open and connected, so if the phone never reconnects it stays on the old pin. You don’t have to set anything up for it to show, it just won’t refresh on its own. Worth checking the map before you rely on it.

MemberThe part where it keeps the last spot is honestly the feature I’ve gotten the most use out of. I stuck one in my camera bag and when I forgot the bag at a cafe, opening the app showed the pin still sitting there from when I’d last been near it. I didn’t save anything manually, it was just there. That little bit of history is handy for retracing where you had the thing last, even if it’s not live anymore. So yeah, it does keep that record on its own once paired, no setup needed for that part. I do wish it held onto more than just the most recent spot though, since a couple of older pins would make the whole “where did I last have this” thing way easier. Still, for the price I paid, seeing that last location pop up saved me a decent amount of searching.

Tom in NYCMemberIt only kept the spot for me if my phone had been near it recently. Left a tag in a rental car once and the pin was from the day before, not where the car actually ended up. Still better than nothing I guess.

MemberMine has kept the last spot saved without me doing anything extra, but it isn’t always the exact spot I’d expect. When I parked in a big lot and walked away, the pin was more like where my phone and the tag last had a connection, not where I actually left the bag. It was still close enough to find the right area though. I think the app just remembers that automatically once you’ve paired it, so you don’t need to set up anything special for the basic last location. I mostly like it for the convenience of not having to remember where I put something, and the app does that part fine for me.

MemberMine never did that automatically, so I wouldn’t count on it.

MemberI actually like that it doesn’t save every little move on its own. I’d rather have the pin stay put so I can glance at it and know where something was, instead of watching it jump around while I’m carrying the tag.

MemberIt saves the spot on its own once the app has seen the tag, no setup needed. Mine pinned the location of my toolbox in the garage without me touching anything. Whether that pin is still accurate by the time you check is another story.
17 de October de 2026 at 20:59 #16367Harper J
MemberMine only saves a spot when the app actually connects to the tag, so it’s not really doing it constantly in the background. I had a tag in my backpack and the pin stayed on the last place my phone picked it up, which was a few blocks from where I actually left the bag. So it does show up by itself, but that spot is just from the last time they talked, not a live update. If your phone wasn’t near the tag when you left it, you might not get a fresh spot at all. I keep the app open for a minute before I walk away if I want the pin to be current, but otherwise I just treat it as a rough hint.
